It's true.  While it's not true, per se, I've always considered the Jesuits a kind of humanist sect, because much of what they do religiously is tied to social justice and human rights.

I'm not an atheist, but I do read these threads from time to time, depending on how much personal time I have. I find the discussions have a variety of interest for me. I like to see other viewpoints. I like to see what others believe, and challenge myself and my own faith. If it was stirred or shaken (martini?) by a little posting on a message board, then it isn't very strong!

I enjoy the intellectual discussions. I also see one or two individuals who post to these threads who purport to be "Christian" but who are the most abysmal examples of Christianity I have ever seen. I like to be a positive example (there are many much better examples than I am).

I'm not really a "follower" of LeaAnn.... but I do visit this thread, and contribute if I have anything to share.

Wow....what was your first clue???

Is it shocking to you to learn there is indeed an "option" to not believe in God?

.....and what does religion or the lack of it have anything to do with obesity? I am sure obesity is the theme of this forum. Correct me if I am wrong.

Interesting. So you are saying that since this post doesn't have anything directly to do with WLS it shouldn't be there. Is that correct? If so, then please go to these threads:

and let them know that they are not allowed either.

And just for clarification, the atheist posts serves the same purpose for a group of people on this forum as the religious posts do for a different segmant.
