Some people believe that to be a real Christian, you must love and accept everyone. You must be tolerant of everything and never register an opinion. But is that what a Christian is? No, it isn't. That assumption actually contradicts what we read in other passages of the Bible.

People often say that Jesus was a great humanitarian, loving and caring and sharing. He was those things, but Jesus also was a revolutionary. Jesus confronted people. He had some choice words for the Pharisees, calling them vipers and hypocrites and dead men walking. When confrontation was necessary, Jesus would speak the truth to a person.  - I am showing you this again becaue I think you missed this part.

Ephesians2:[8] For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
[9] Not of works, lest any man should boast

I can not say where Gandhi is or is not because I have never had a personla conversation with him nor do I really know that much about him.  I can say this - if you think his works got him into Heaven you would be wrong.  See the above scripture.

Wow, so you say Ghandhi didn't get into heaven.  You, my dear, need to read about this man because I would say he will be waiting next to God when you get there.  I BELIEVE this, just as you believe the writings of the Ephesians.  (just curious if you even know the history of that 10th book?)

oh and:

“What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him?" -James 2:14

So I can do anything I want as long as I believe in Jesus and love him?  Your quote directly contradicts an apostle.  the Ephesians wrote their book after Paul's death and it is an interpretation of his teachings, not his word.  So, which apostle is right?  How do you get to chose that? and maybe you aren't interpreting it properly?

Maybe this is the way to live through your lord:

"As soon as we lose the moral basis, we cease to be religious. There is no such thing as religion over-riding morality. Man, for instance, cannot be untruthful, cruel or incontinent and claim to have God on his side."

James 2:17 Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.

18 Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works.

19 Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble.

20 But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?

If you would have read a little further you would have understood the scripture you just quoted.  When you have "TRUE" faith then you also have works.  Show me in the Bible where works will get you into Heaven cause I can show you where FAITH DOES!!!!!!!   True faith that is!!

*****ie, are we to believe Ephesians, or James?

James 2:17 KJV
Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.

James 2:20 KJV
But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?

James 2:26 KJV
For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.

Must be difficult to live your life by a book which is SOOOOO contradictory.  However do you choose?

I guess all that schooling that you claimed to have had just didn't sink into your narrow atheist head did it.  this is the very reason you are to closed minded to understand the word of God.  You read the book looking for error when the Bible has NO ERRORS at ALL.

I was not going to waste my time explaining it to you because I know that you are to closed minded to get it or you are to hard hearted to admit that I am right....but here I go.

Just because a person "claims" to believe in God and say that he or she believes in God by faith and then does nothing more for the cause of God and Jesus has faith without works.  Basically what James is saying.....if you have TRUE faith then you will also have works.  Just saying the words I have faith means nothing if you do not repent, turn from sin and produce works in the name of Christ Jesus.

By repenting and living your life for Christ you will want to produce works.  This is how you know if you are a true born again Christian giving God and Jesus all the honor and glory.

I do not expect you to understand because you didn't get it when you went to school for it and I am sure my few little sentences are not going to make you get it now.  You choose not to believe in God.

A preacher once said a person has a right to doubt the things of God because doubt is a natural instinct to not fully understanding the unknown but denying God is an act of will!!  You have to say yeah I get what God is all about but I choose not to believe in him.  That is what you atheist people do and that is exactly what is going to send you to HELL.  Not my words but the words from the Bible.  You can always repent and ask for forgiveness but I somehow DOUBT that you will.......

Hello there, Cupcake! I just saw this little GEM of a post and I couldn't let it pass.

You know a bunch of boys wrote the bible, right? Not God? And they all had different opinions? Otherwise, how do you explain that Matthew thinks Jesus died saying "My God, my God, why has Thou forsaken me?", John wrote that he die thirsty, and Luke forgiving ("Forgive them, Father, they know not what they do?")

Come on! The bible is filled with ranting and errors and contradictions, much like your posts.

Also,  "narrow atheist head" isn't very christian, FYI. Try harder! I mean, I know you're saved and you think you're going to heaven anyway, but still! I don't think Jesus wants you to call people names, Cupcake. Not if you're going to call yourself a CHRISTIAN.

2 Timothy 1:9
Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began,

Titus 3:5
Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;
Titus 3:4-6 (in Context) Titus 3 (Whole Chapter)

Here are 2 scriptures that show you that his GRACE is what saves us.  not our WORKS.  Works is something we do because we are saved.

Hey, I'm going to hell anyway, but I find this conversation to intriguing to let go.
