Daily Atheist Devotional #194 (Atheist Discrimination Edition)
Thank you!! I agree with you. That is why I have not posted in here for such a long time because I at times allowed them to get to my fleshy nature and that is NOT what God or Jesus would want me to do. Fight ugly with ugly. SO I did walk away but here I went coming back in to put my 2 cent in on this topic and all the hate and ugliness comes out in both atheist and even people who claim to be believers. So thank you for reminding me that I will never change these peoples minds and I do need to walk away smiling. Many blessings to you!! If we never meet this side of Heaven I will see you there!!
I am doing really well with my weight loss. Thanks for asking.
Did you have a beautiful little girl yesterday?? If not, I am hoping all is still well with you and the spotting and stuff has stopped.
Again thanks for asking about my weight loss. I am plugging right along. What about you? Did you gain much weight with the baby?

Late to the party (story of my life) but with all of this emphasis on being "born again" I just wanted to note that the word used in John 3:3 (and 3:7) and translated in the KJV as "again" is ἄνωθεν (anōthen). It's used 13 times in the New Testament, in the following ways: (I'll use the KJV wording)
Matthew 27:51 And behold, the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top (anōthen) to the bottom, ....
Mark 15:38 And the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top (anōthen) to the bottom.
Luke 1:3 It seemed good to me also, having had perfect understanding of all things from the very first (anōthen) to write ....
John 3:3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again (anōthen) he cannot ....
John 3:7 Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again (anōthen) .
John 3:31 He that cometh from above (anōthen) is above all: ....
John 19:11 Jesus answered, Thou couldest have no power at all against me, except it were given thee from above (anōthen): therefore he that delivered me unto me hath the greater sin.
John 19:23 Then the soldiers, when they had crucified Jesus, took his garments, and made four parts, to every soldier a part; and also his coat: now the coat was without seam, woven from the top (anōthen) throughout.
Acts 26:5 Which knew me from the beginning (anōthen), if they would testify, that after the most straitest sect of our religion I lived a Pharisee.
Galatians 4:9 But now, after that ye have known God, or rather are known of God, how turn ye again to the weak and beggarly elements, whereunto ye desire again (actually a compound of palin and anōthen, rather as if to say "again from the beginning) to be in bondage?
James 1:17 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above (anōthen), and cometh down from the Father of lights, ....
James 3:15 This wisdom descendeth not from above (anōthen), but is earthly, sensual, devilish.
James 3:17 But the wisdom that is from above (anōthen) is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.
My apologies if someone else has already pointed this out; the thread was simply too long and too filled with invective for me to read more than 5 or 6 pages of it.
To summarize: of the 13 instances of the word anōthen in the Bible, the KJV translates it 3 times as "top", twice as "beginning", 5 times as "above" (once in the same chapter as your favored reference), and 3 times as "again" (twice in that same chapter, and once in a very odd construction). It would seem to indicate that "again" is not really the best term to use there.
Best regards,
Dave

I am charging you with reading all of *****ie's posts before you decide that she is the victim here. Unless of course you are one of those xians who feel that you can be cruel, arrogant, mean-spirited, and vile but it's okay cause you are bff's with jesus.
Why do you suppose even the xians on here are denouncing her? Perhaps, before you encourage the little maggot to continue in her ugly ways you should know just exactly what it is you are supporting.
For you to tell her 'good job' means either that you lack reading comprehension, you have no idea what you are talking about, or you are as vile and black hearted as she. Why am I guessing it is the later rather than the former.
Go and educate yourself before you support this disgusting piece of waste. Just my two cents!

If you TRULY believe it is "each person's choice what they believe" then WHY do you feel the need to spread "the word"? It isn't your JOB to do that, it's a made up assignment you've given yourself to make you feel special and chosen. As I've said elsewhere - I find that arrogant and offputting.
Trying to convince someone what YOU believe is RIGHT and what THEY believe is WRONG isn't a "good deed" Mister. It's proselytizing. And it's vanity.
You have every right to your beliefs....until they start to encrouch on mine.
And if you'd lke to talk about ANGER, and about things that are DISTURBING, go back and ready about the history of Christianity, about the blood shed in the name of the lord. You bet your ASS I get fired up when I see an elected official talking about religion - I've seen where it leads.

I say I do it because the Bible tell us to spread the good new of Jesus but it also tells us to warn of the bad news of Hell to those who leave Christ out!!

- [17] For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel: not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of none effect.
- [18] For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.
- [21] For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe.
- [23] But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumblingblock, and unto the Greeks foolishness;

- [16] For though I preach the gospel, I have nothing to glory of: for necessity is laid upon me; yea, woe is unto me, if I preach not the gospel!
- [18] What is my reward then? Verily that, when I preach the gospel, I may make the gospel of Christ without charge, that I abuse not my power in the gospel.
- [27] But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.
1Cor.15
- [1] Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;
- [2] By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.
- [11] Therefore whether it were I or they, so we preach, and so ye believed.
- [12] Now if Christ be preached that he rose from the dead, how say some among you that there is no resurrection of the dead?
- [14] And if Christ be not risen, then is our preaching vain, and your faith is also vain.
Can someone please show me where I wrote that what others believe is wrong? Mister? Wow that's hilarious! Yep I will believe in what I want as you will believe what you want. And yes when people turn to God because I have educated them, I do feel better. But that's just me I guess. Not you. Its my life I am not rude and am I going to continue to argue with you. Not worth my time. I posted a reply for someone else. Let it go, grow up and be mature. Over and done for me!
