Bariatric-friendly restaurants??
I hate those cards, they are an embarrassment to the fat community.
We used to have a Phoenix bandster lunch monthly, very informal and we went to a soup/salad buffet. I was always so embarrassed to be with 30 - 400# people when they were asking for discounts because they could only eat like a bird.

I've had no problems with any national chains. All fine with sharded meals, kids meals or a custom meals. I'm vegetarian so used to asking for things a certain way. You'd be suprised what you can get if you ask. Leave a healthy tip and they remember you and what you eat each time.
I don't even mention I've had surgery most times. Infact the few times I've mentioned it was due to me leaving so much food on my plate.
Edit: I did have a problem once at Olive Garden. The waiter was a douche, but I still got what I wanted. Was not my idea to eat there.

"Leave a healthy tip..."
Oh, yes please!!!!
Remember that the server is doing just as much work to bring your special dish or half-priced dish to your table as he or she would have done to bring the full-priced dish to your table. if you're eating from a discounted $6 plate instead of paying $12 for the plate's regular price, please still tip as if you're paying $12.

I found this post while looking for bariatric friendly restaurants. I was going to approach a few restaurants that I like & suggest this. Because so many people are having surgery & portion sizes are often out of control, I was going to suggest they think of adding a "small plates" section to their menu. And even an amuse-bouche appetizer menu. Approached from a marketing angle that could appeal to not only the bariatric post surgery crowd but others as well.
