If you cannot hear of people eating foods that are YOUR triggers, you should avoid all support groups. There will always be someone who consumes the foods YOU cannot. I hear folks all the time talking about drinking coca cola, or eating Reeses Peanut Butter Cups. I don't touch those....they are my triggers (I doubt they'd really trigger me, but they ARE my short list of never again)...... but I'll talk about eating ice cream. It's not MY trigger. I'd talk about eating bagels, but they put me to sleep, so I can't eat them, but it's not my trigger, and I don't have to censor what I talk about, because if I had to eliminate every food or beverage possible that people have to avoid, I'd have to not mention ANYTHING, including water (which I can't stomach post-op)..... it's not MY job to avoid speaking of foods I like. It's YOUR job, as the one in control of YOUR destiny, to watch what you eat. Frankly, if you can't hear about it, you really have to avoid this place. Talking about food is a pasttime of the folks here.

It's okay to be honest about what you can or cannot handle, and good to know yourself so well, but don't expect everyone else to change because of what you can or cannot handle.

Tonight I just came from my Bariatric Group Pre-op & Post-op meeting once a month held at Kaiser. The point is...  it is a support GROUP.

I listen to people how they eat around their surgery. WHY????  WHY EAT THOSE FOODS THAT WE ARE NOT SUPPOSE TO?
Isnt that how WE GOT HERE IN THE FIRST PLACE.

ARE WE THAT FORGETFUL AFTER SUGERY AND A FEW POUNDS LOST...

BC... those people tell me Something I DO NOT WANT TO DO.

New MOTTO:   " WHY TRY IT"    WHY TRY EATING THESE FOODS!!!????!!!  DONT DO IT!!!!!!!!

Anyhow, My surgery is FEB 1st.   I hope and hope and hope I DONT EAT AROUND MY SURGERY...  Keeping the ATTITUDE OF GRATTITUDE AND    WHY TRY IT....

**** DONT ***** and   WHY TRY     IT??*******

What is your experience and if you eat around your SURGERY WHY DO YOU DO IT>???
Is it because your not taking care of something or an issure that has happened or is happening?

WHAT???

Think about something, if it is so easy to just avoid bad foods and to just stop overeating, why aren't you doing it now pre op?  ;o)

AMEN!

I truly think one of the things that saved me was NOT having that all or nothing attitude about what I can and cannot eat.

at nearly 16 months out, I have my doctor's blessings to eat what I want....

Wwwwwwow.

Nessa, I hope you received as much enjoyment out of this one as I did.

As for giving anyone your number, I believe the saying is, "Don't stick your dick in crazy."  Anyone with a penis who follows that advice won't come anywhere near you, my dear.

I did.  I did indeed.

should i mention that my husband is 11 years YOUNGER than I am and my "boyfriend" is 13 years younger...

here's the picture the BF took of me Saturday night before we went out to dinner where i ate half of a shrimp ****tail, crab cakes, mashed potatoes and a brandy alexander with ice cream.   oh wait i had about 1.5 of the mini crab cakes 2 bites of his mashed potatoes and did not finish the drink....
