Could someone please give me some advice as to how I might get skin reduction surgeries paid for? I have lost 140 lbs. after duodenal switch and a year and a half later am left with a terrible amount of extra skin from one end to the other! I am very grateful for all the health benefits from my weight loss, but am devastated socially and emotionally by this extra skin which still prevents me from engaging in so many activities I had dreamed of doing and from dressing much differently than I could fat! PLEASE HELP!!!! Thank you so much! Charlee (Charlotte) I have Medicare only and am on a severely limited budget.
took alot of courage to say the least to do this but it is what it is. I would rather have the loose skin than be 259 and 5'2 1/2" with 80% heart blockage, diabetic and all of that to say the least. I have no regrets. Now I am trying to see if my ins. will approve the skin issue. I can remember having breakfast with an old love from about 30 years ago and believe it or not he is 17 years older than me and he made a comment when I told him I had gastric he said "ew you must have all that skin hanging" and I replied Harry, I am alive to tell about it. I am 55 and not a young princess anymore and you aren't either. He absolutely didn't know what to say. Vanity sucks if you do it at the expense of your health. Keep on dancing!
