well, I can kinda understand.  My surgeon balked when I asked why he didn't save my gallbladder for me to look at.

I mean, if you're going to widen an incision to 4-5" because the thing is so oversized and packed with stones, don't I get to LOOK at it before they burn it?

I asked for the stones in a jar so I could make jewelry. His face... total Visa moment.

Hello Dan,
wow what a inspirational story, I love positive stuff. Thanks so much for your honesty. I know this will help a lot of people who worry about sagging skin, I had RNY almost 5 months ago, I am so happy that now i can get down on the floor with my grand-babies and play, I have lost 95 pds so far, Right now being healthy is more important to me than hanging skin, keep up spreading positive things, and congrats on your weight lose and running skills.

You are such an inspiration to me!! I just lurve your posts, I hope to accomplish 1/3 of what you have. I agree with you about the skin. My daughter made a comment on why my arm looked funny, it doesn't even bother me. I'm so happy with myself right now, the skin doesn't matter. I may have future plastics, I may not.

Thanks and keep the posts coming! You look great btw.

 Your story really is inspiring.

My weight dropped from 315 to 150, and I did still have tons of abdominal skin.  Nekked, I looked like a melted Barbie doll ... ew.  Ew, ew, ewwwwwwwwww.

Seven years after beginning massive weight loss, I did have a full circumferential panniculectomy (sp?).  Massive lower body lift.  The surgeon took nine pounds of skin, and I am still recovering from that procedure.

Medical photos scare the daylights out of me, but seeing yours is a huge reminder of what I went through, and the huge expense, time, and effort that has gone into making me a normally sized and shaped person.

It also reminds me that I owe it to myself, and others, not to undo all of that with sloppy habits.  So thank you for reminding me, and congratulations!

Enjoy all that you have worked for!

Wow, what a journey!!!! The surgeon lopped off about 11 pounds from my front and guesstimates another 12-15 from my flanks, back, and legs... Crazy journey we are all on called life! Live it, love it, share it! You rock sista!

I  love reading your posts, you are such an inspiration.  Thanks for sharing your story.  Your post hits home for me today because I am having a tummy tuck on Monday and I'm really really nervous.  I also relate to not having money for plastic surgery, I too have kids that I need to care for and I am a stay at home mom like your wife.  I  am very blessed because my insurance company is going to pay for my tt : )

Reading that the pain wasn't that bad helps.  I know every ones experience is different though.  But I also know that I'm in the best shape of my life and I'm positive this will help.  I've been running 4-5 miles every other day.  So reading your post helped me to feel much better about Monday.

I wish you well and Merry Christmas!

Laura
