I just got back from the emergency room for the pain in my chest/stomach area, I actually got really scared and called my PCP early this morning because the pain was so intense and I really wanted to rule out a heart problem.  My heart is fine, ekg and chest xray and blood tests proved that out, my stomach is actually fine too had a cat scan for that, but they are afraid I have a stone stuck in my bile duct 10 years after my gallbladder surgery, and my liver enzymes are way up.  The doctor said my body is totally overproducing acid and I have reflux which is causing all this horrible pain so I am on Prilosec twice a day and have to go see my PCP on Monday to redo all the blood tests again next week to see if I am gonna die or not.  This morning I felt sure it was my last day, even now after iv acid reducer it still hurts, Pepcid and Reglan.  Wish me luck.

Good luck Heide.  I'm glad they were able to figure it out and get you some treatment.  I hope it works for you.  Have a better day today and a great Thanksgiving next week.  Elena

Heidi,

I am so glad you got some medical attention.  I was really worried for you.

Can they remove the stone or dissolve it?

I've had horrible reflux for years and years.  I know first hand what terrible pain it can cause.  Thank goodness for proton pump inhibitors like prilosec!

Keep us all informed about your condition.

You poor thing! Can they do something to get rid of the stone(s)? Thank goodness it's not a heart attack. Good luck, I hope you're feeling better soon!

Say it isn't so My Lady, Heidi!

So sorry to hear you've run into problems at this point. You've been a cyber mentor to me and probably many others for a long time now. My thoughts are w/you. I hope you'll keep us advised as always. I'll be checking back to see what the blood tests have to say next week.

Heidi,

Just pleading with you again to get a therapist. I don't think that the ER would have sent you home if they thought you were going to die.

Hope your pcp can convince you that you are going to live, and will refer you to a therapist.

Hi Heidi, so glad you went to the hospital and even though its awful, at least you know the problem you are dealing with.
Wish there was something I could do for you, but please let me know how you are feeling later in the day.
love you
Helen .

Thanks Helen,

I just woke up and took my Prilosec and had some chicken soup, I can only eat a very limited diet until I get better.  They don't know why the gallbladder thing is causing an issue ten years after my gallbladder surgery, the scary thing is when I had my attack years ago they were afraid I passed some stones into my bile duct but after my surgery they thought they got them all out, can you imagine I have been holding onto this stone for ten years, hopefully its just a mistake.  I actually feel fine now.  Oh yeah I am not dying, not quite yet anyway, my boss said I couldn't.  lol

Love you
Me:)

Hey Heidi!
Sorry you had such a scare. I'm glad you went for help. My doctor said he thought I had a stone and an attack a couple of times from it. My gall bladder was removed 3 years ago. It was awful!! The pain lasted about an hour and throbbed for another day of so. I was then sore a couple of days more after the initial attack. There are meds you can take but I didn't like the side effects so I chose to "wait and see". I hope it never happens again. Please continue to take care of yourself girl! We love you Heidi and want you to feel better soon!           Connie
