Results of Taste Testing 74 Protein Powders

When I started this journey, I ordered every possible protein powder sample I could find from sources such a vitalady.com (in fact most of them came from her.)  I kept tract of how I liked them and I will post my results here.  Of course everyone is different in their tastes.  I love sweets, carbs, bananas, chocolate, strawberry, lots of flavor; so if you are similar then these results may apply to you.  I hate tea, so I did not even try them.  I mixed all of them with soymilk unsweetened for general consistency unless noted otherwise.  I hope this is helpful:

Wow, thanks so much for posting this!  I think this will be really  helpful to people.  I know everyone does have different tastes, but still... and it's just great to know that someone else bothered to try that many brands.  I think many people just try two or three and then decide they hate all protein powders.

This list may be helpful to narrow down some choices. But, the final denominator is the patient's personal taste buds.  What 98% of post ops like may taste like dirt to someone else. DAVE

This list is fantastic.  In the last three years I have tried most of these and agrde with your ratings.  I do recommend that you also try the BSN Syntha-6 Chocolate and Vanilla.  They are even tastier than Lean Dessert.  Great job.  Wish I had this list when I started out.

Nice list!

I tried about 30 samples and picked my 3 faves ( all syntrax nectar brand).  I see some you tried that I didn't try that sound pretty good, so I may order some more samples! 

My discovery in the process was that I liked all protien powders better in water than milk...even the chocolate and vanilla ones. 

I also discovered that I liked chocolate and vanilla alot less than my brain thought I did.
