Master Cleanse after gastric bypass?
Are you exercising?!?! I'm battling 7 pounds.......and while I'm focusing on eating far less in terms of refined carbs - including fruit - I"m concentrating a great deal more on ramping up my workouts. We're pretty much like everybody else in this regard. If you want to lose weight you have to eat less and exercise more. We have the advantage of not being able to eat huge portions.......but the process is the same. I also find being on OH daily really helps me stay mindful about things.......it's easy to drift away and take for granted the gift of WLS.....and staying close to people at all levels of the process - from frustrated preops who are doing everything they can to get approved....to new postops struggling to meet protein goals to the old timers at various levels of maintenance struggle (or not).......the whole thing stays more 'real' in my head. Good luck to you. Susan

I am fully absorbing and have been for the last 3 years or so. I absorb so well that I don't even have to take the supplements anymore. I get a full work up every year, Niacin, and bone included and everything is very, very normal.
I work out 5 days a week both cardio and weights but the weight still came on, I even run 5ks when I have time.
I know it's the food part not the excercise. I hate the cravings for carbs!! Thats what kills me if only there were an excelent carb blocker out there that would be great.
What you can try is to do a 5 DPT - or simmilar - limit simple - and starchy carbs,. and concentrate on proteins and green veggies. With some helthy fats. No soft drinks, taking all vitamins that are required.

Hi Leslie,
I'm 15 years out and Yes, I have done the Master Cleanse 12 day fast once and now I only do a 3 or 5 days version of it. You will lose 10-12 lbs but you will quickly gain it back if you do not have a plan to keep it off. I use the fast to "reset" my body and mind when I've gotten off track, (i.e. Holidays, Vacations, etc.). When I come off the fast I'm free from cravings and its so much easier to go back to my high protein / clean foods eating plan.
