Protien Drink Recipe ~ Smoothie King Gladiator??
Hey everyone! I have been having a really hard time getting in the much needed protien and protien drinks to me are discusting! The only ones I have been able to enjoy are the ones from Smoothie King!! But at 7+ dollars a pop this is not finacially a route to go! I have, however, figured out what they put in them and how to do it at home! So if anyone is interested I thought I would pass this on!
Protien "VANILLA" ~ I use the Body Fortress from Walmart 2 scoups (52g protien, 270 cal, 3g sug)
Frozen Yogurt "VANILLA" ~ I buy the Kemps no sugar added/fat free 1/2c (4g protien, 70 cal, 5g sug)
Fat Free Milk ~ about 1/4 cup or what every you need to make it smooth enough (2g protien, 20 cal, 3g sug)
Fruit ~ When I go to Smoothie King I get Banana and Pineapple I like the Pina Colada Kind of taste and the added potassium, but here you can add anythign you want.
1 Banana and 1/3 can crushed Pineapple in own juice (1.6 protien, 138 cal, 22g sug)
Blend the everything but the protien powder first ~ Cause it will stick to the blender and be wasted~ as you are blending add one scoup and let mix in and then the next scoup ~ finish off with adding ice and crushing it in the blender.
This makes a large cup ~ you can cut it down but I drink it over a cople of hour period and it keeps me full for a long time! Not to mention the FINAL PROTIEN COUNT IS 59.6 GRAMS!! :)
Anyway, hope this helps some of you and enjoy!

Found this tid bit of information when doing research on the nutritional value of pineapple ~ very interesting!
Contrary to popular belief, the pineapple did not originate in Hawaii but in South America! The fruit was taken to Europe where it was named by explorers who thought it resembled a pinecone. One serving (2 slices, 112g) of pineapple has only 60 calories and provides an excellent source of vitamin C and manganese. Fresh pineapples are the only known source of bromelain, an enzyme whose anti-inflammatory properties may alleviate symptoms of osteoarthritis, making pineapple a Superfood for your Joints. Research shows bromelain may also help heal injuries, reduce inflammation associated with asthma and inhibit the growth of malignant cells in both lung and breast cancer. A nutrient combo including bromelain cut down plastic surgery recovery time by 17% according to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons.

Tammy - you might like the Syntrax Nectar Carribean Cooler - if you like the smoothie you're describing above. It's the only one that I really can drink without making a bad face. I want to try your recipe too! I almost went to Smoothie King a few weeks ago - glad I didn't -- I had no idea that one drink would cost $7!
I lived on Smoothie King Gladiator w/ pineapple & banana for the first two months!! It was the only protein drink i could stand too. And it is the only powder I ever bought after trying every sample I could get my hands on! I will try your recipe..I have tried to make one at home but its never as good as Smoothie King! I didnt think to try using frozen yogurt in it tho. Thanks for the tip! P.S a small here in chattanooga tn is only $5 LOL
