Wait a few years.

I can eat that much with a RNY 6 years out.  And so will you.

You weren't expecting to have a 1oz pouch for the rest of your life, were you?

I can hold 6-8oz of lean protein at once.  If I mix it with something else (like a carb) I can get closer to 10oz.

That is the issue. CHOICE!

Lots of people never make the choice of which surgery is best for them because they don't do their research and most surgeons feed them bull**** lines about surgery types, esp the types of WLS's that they don't do.

DSer's are proactive in spreading the word because we want to make sure people realieze that we have a choice, You don't have to accept what the first surgeon tells you is best. You need to think about what is best for you and your lifestyle and then review the surgery types.

We do it as public education, If even one pre-op read this post and researched the Ds and other surgery types then the post has served it's purpose.

I don't see any way in which Jenna was trying to claim her surgery was superior AT ALL. She was merely showing a day in the life of JENNA. She also kindly explained how the DS's calorie consumption is different. How is that starting a war???? It is YOU who is stirring the pot.

Wow, that's the dumbest thing I've read all day.  Congrats!

This is not a gross amount of food.  And I hope you realize that by saying "I never ate that much before surgery," you have probably lost any credibility you had on this board.

I am glad you had DS and can eat all that.  I never ate that much before surgery.

Why do DS'ers always have to try and prove they are better or eat better or superior or whatever it be.  Who cares what surgery anyone had as long as they are HAPPY with their own choice and journey.

Actually, why would her meal plan bother you so much? Other than some minor adjustments, my own day could look quite similar. Granted, I eat very little animal protein (by choice), so I'd replace the bacon with something like MSF veggie sausage, and I'd skip the ice cream and other refined sugars (I didn't eat that kind of thing before surgery).

Yesterday's Meal Plan:

Protein Shake (Before the gym)

Brunch- 3 oz filet mignon (left over from Sat dinner out), 1/4 cup egg beaters, 1 oz LF cheddar cheese, 1/4 bagel w/dab of Smart Balance

D- Zucchini casserol with homemade maranara sauce, MSF veggie crumbles, mushrooms, and LF mozzarella cheese, with 1 oz (dry weight) cooked low carb pasta

S- 1/2 cup fresh strawberrys & blueberries

The point is, we eat what we need to eat to fit into the surgical choices we make to best suit our lifestyle. I've read Jenna's posts since at least after our surgeries (on the same day). She is never anything but helpful and encouraging. I've yet to see something that she's written as antagonizing or superior.
