I think it is a gross amount of food too lol... but let me explain this.... my stomach is the size of a walnut ( as u know).. so when my kids eat a kids meal at a restaurant it seems like a gross amount of food... LOL  One half of an egg is a gross amount of food!!!

Before surgery I would have been asking for seconds of all of your meals... and the ice cream... are u kidding  I needed the pint of the Ben and Jerry's  LOL

I liked your explanation... much clearer and more understandable then I was given at the seminar I went to.. I definitely agree that those of you that had the DS should talk about it... because it was almost discouraged when I started this process..... SO KEEP ON!!
ALSO..............................................................
CONGRATS ON YOUR TREMENDOUS SUCCESS... and there is a small part of me that is jealous of that steak with the cheese on  lol  it looks DELISH!!!

Thank you, Kerry. I'm glad you appreciated the intent of my post, and think I understand where you're coming from about the volume. As big as my portions seem to you, that's how some non-op folks portions can seem to me at times.

Sometimes, when I go to the Cheesecake Factory or somewhere and they bring out a ginormous plate of food, my stomach does cower a little in fear.

As for your RNY - 78 lbs in 3 months, congrats! You are really rocking it. And FWIW, I have some friends who are a couple years out from RNY and they now enjoy gorgonzola steak on occasion as well. ;-)

No worries.  In a couple of years you'll be eating "normal" portions again.

You know what? Before surgery, all of us would have wanted seconds and a larger ice cream, etc. I think that's something Jenna displays quite well here--one thing the DS has given her is the ability to eat great food in moderation, and be completely satisfied by it.

You know what??  (LOL)   I am confused about this post to me.... I as agreeing with her and my post was in response to the woman who made the comment that this was a gross amount of food..... so maybe you should reread my post and the post jenna made to me underneath of it.....

I am confused about what you are confused about. You said things like "I think it is a gross amount of food too lol" and "Before surgery I would have been asking for seconds of all of your meals" and "the ice cream... are u kidding  I needed the pint of the Ben and Jerry's  LOL".

Those are the kind of things I was talking about in my response, where I said (for example) we ALL would have probably wanted seconds before surgery. So maybe you should re-read your post?

Also, I didn't see where Jenna posted anything to agree or disagree with. This isn't her opinion of how she eats. It's just how she eats. What is there to disagree with her about?

 Hah, gross amount of food.

I showed it to my husband And his comment about the steak at least was "I'd be wondering my other FIVE ounces of steak went!"

I told my husband he is no longer allowed to mock me for my little plates or the tiny glass condiment bowls I use for my almonds (pictured above), because apparently, despite how it looks, I am actually eating epic quantities here.

I have a few small plates (we have mishmash dish wear) But when it comes to bowls I'm frequently eating out of kiddie colored plastic bowls with little engraved circus animals on them. So you got me beat there!

My current fav dinner plate is the teacup saucer from my china set.  Just perfect size for my 60 cc sleeve.

Man, didn't you feel gross after you ate those FIVE crackers?!?
(^sarcastic^)

Thanks for the belly laughs - great ab workout!
