Chad, here's a copy of what I posted to Sue earlier: I have this: www.amazon.com/DeLonghi-EC155-Espresso-Maker/dp/B000F49XXG/r ef=cm_lmf_tit_2, which I use to make the espresso shots. There are different makers and they all work a bit differently. I then let the espresso cool a bit, then pour it over ice and heavy cream. I add a shot of the SF caramel syrup, stir and enjoy.

Were you looking for more specifics about how my machine works? I'm not sure how familiar with espresso machines you are.

(Of course, the whole thing would probably be just as yummy with regular old coffee. The espresso machine is all my DH's doing.)

No, sorry. I'm asking about the mix, not really the actual making of the coffee. It sounds like two shots of espresso in a fairly tall glass full of ice...how much cream do you put in with that?

Okay, so I take a 20 ounce glass and fill it about 3/4 of the way with ice. I pour in a double shot of espresso, slightly cooled along with 4-5 ounces of cream. Then I add about 1-2 tablespoons of the DaVinci syrup. (This morning, I had gingerbread flavor instead of caramel.)

If you do that, you'll just be having a straight shot of espresso.  Be sure to be sitting down if it's your first time :D

I took that to mean he was going to do it without the ice, but with the cream and syrup.
