HELP!! Severe Diarrhea and Stomach Pains!
OMG I am going on the second week of this. This diarrhea is so bad that it cramps my stomach up on one side and the pain is SO intense then (TMI - WARNING....) I squirt out straight, powerful liquid!!! I do this no matter WHAT I eat or drink!
So the doctors finding is I have inflamed intestinal tract... Big shocker there! Anyway, she had to call the surgeon to get his adv on what to do and he says for me to go BACK to straight liquids for 3 days then back on the creamy foods, mushy stage, etc..... So, basically just start over with the diet omitting milk products this time around.. Not sure how that will work considering most of the time the ONLY foods I can tolerate are cottage cheese and yogurt! sigh,,,
Anyway, I am on a prescription dosage of imodium and it really does work great, but only for a very short time then I am back to feeling sick again. I could go through a bottle in less than a day but it can not be good for me to take so much medication.
Do you have ANY suggestions for me? Has anyone gone through anything like this? I am about 2.5 months out from surgery.
Thanks!

After waking up this morning in a comprimising situation, I went to the ER. After a bunch of tests guess what they diagnosed me with? C. Dif! You were right! Thank you so much! I am not entirely sure I would have gone into the ER had I not of read these replies, which made me realize this could be something really serious.
The doc has me on an antibiotic, which will clear it up! Thank God, it has been horrible!!!!!

I'm with Saphire...ask about c-diff....my Mom had it and it is some awful stuff! Mom's belly would swell like she was 5 months pregnant. She was so sick! It took them months to figure it out, she even had exploratory surgery! All it took was a stool sample....good grief! I would certainly ask. Connie
I thought the surgery had made me lactose intolerant because I having huge problems. I changed my protein drink and ta da! The fake sugars in the Isopure caused the issues, not the milk. Prior to surgery, I would get such severe diarrhea I would bleed severely. Once your intestines become inflamed, it is really hard to make it stop.

1. probiotics - a must. And large dosages - multiple strains - best get at health food store or vitamin shoppe, GNC, etc. take at least 3 times a day.
2. Also - activated charcoal - I get mine in Walgreen or walmart, etc. Google "activated charcoal." - really good stuff for any problems beside constipation (it may constipating)
3. Also - natural internal deodorant - chlorophyll - I use Chlorofresh - mint flavored - again - health food stores. or google on line (like Vitamin shoppe..etc)
