In Week 4 and again in weeks 6,7:  I threw up MANY TIMES each day and had decided I would definately die from malnutrition or dehydration for my RNY within a year or two.

Now, I'm MUCH better except for times when I make a mistake.  If I eat too fast, if I don't chew well, I'm I pick the wrong food, If I am tense before, during or right after eating, if I don't take a quick 10 minute walk after eating, if I try to be involved in a conversation while eating, if I snack while driving or am otherwise distracted while eating.  These are the lessons I've learned.  I also am taking Prevacid each morning.  I'm now throwing up zero to three times a week.      The more I learn, the less I expect to throw up.    As of late since I'm doing better, I've really started enjoying my food, feeling satisfied, and thinking that it will all be ok in the long run.

I've also learned from my WEEKS of throwing up all day long - once I throw up, the stomach is irritated and sensitive - I don't keep trying to push food down it.

I wish that I didn't throw up at all.  This was a worry of mine.  However, it's different that throwing up before surgery because I don't have the bad nausea -just a need to get the food out.    I do worry about the effect it has on my esophagus and my teeth - anyone know?

I don't at all, I don't even think I can, I have eaten things that made me feel sick and tried to throw up and can't.  I try hard to never over eat or eat things that make me feel sick, its all a learning curve.

Good Luck,
Hugs Heidi

2.5 years out and I've never vomitted.  I'm not sure if I still can.
