Horrible stomach ache. A virus or my RNY?

I have had a horrible stomach ache with severe diarreah and vomiting for 3 days.  The pains in my stomach feel like it did right after I had surgery.  They hurt so bad that I am hunched over with pain.  I also can't leave the house for long because I am on the toilet constantly, even with the kaopectate.   Whenever I eat something, I either throw it up or I feel like I need to and just lay down with a stomach ache.

Does it sound like it could be something with my pouch or just a virus?

The nurse told me not to worry about it, it just sounded like a virus but I have never had diarreah for so long and the stomach ache along with it.

My doc scheduled an MRI on Monday, do you know what that may help find?

Any suggestions?  I am finding I can not eat anything solid, so I have been just pretty much not eating...  I am trying to get all my liquids in though, I don't want to get dehydrated.

It does sound like a virus but I wouldn't know what else might be wrong. Try not to worry and let the the doctor take care of you. The only suggestions I have is to take some Imodium  and see if that helps or if it doesn't turn out to be a virus, maybe trying some Probiotics, like acidophilus.

I hope you find some answers.

I had severe pain and nausea when I had acute pancreatitis.  They wound up having to remove my gallbladder.

I had horrible virus - pain, and all other symptoms you describe.  Even 2 years post op - I lost 10 lbs in 3 days.  But of course a lot of this was lost of minerals, water and "cleaning out.
I am glad you contact a doc. I self medicated.   i dunk a lot of hot herbal teas, and took a lot of probiotics, and activated charcoal.   Eventually I was able to hold in some liquids and that's when i started on organic Greek yogurt.   After 4 days  I was able to start eating - though I started slowly - full liquids for a day or 2, then some purees, then some soft foods. It took me a week to get over the virus. Hope you feel better soon.
