KFC Grilled Double Down - Would you try it?
I just tried it yesterday. I lhad the grilled version, with bacon, the cheese, the sauce, everything! I t was great! It was spicy, not hot -tasting, just spicy! For the most part, I loved it! The only drawback I found was that it was messy to eat(the patties slid around alot). Probably the battered ones don't slide around as much. I ate about 3/4 of it( I was very hungry as I had not been able to eat breakfast due to having a test done-no eating after midnight thing. I probably could have eaten it all if had pushed myself, but why do that?), and decided to save the rest for today. Which since it is a double pattie it is plenty for a meal. I had no problems what so ever. But I am 2 yrs. out from having my RNY, and have been blessed to be one of those people that have a pouch of steel(for the most part) and have had no complications to speak of. So would I get it again? Sure, it is nice to have as another option while out and about( I get tired of salad, wraps, chili,Taco Bell,etc...). Would I eat one every day? No. Would I recomend this to everyone that has had WLS? No. But for those people that have a similar pouch to mine(pouch of steel and are farther out-not a newbie), or a DS'er, then yes! Oh, I am 5'6", weigh 117, and wear a size 2 pants, small/medium tops. I can afford a litlle fast food, fat and carbs into my diet!
The smell of KFC makes me sick so I can't even go near one, but my boyfriend and his brother tried them yesterday and he can't stop raving about how good it was. I checked the calories and fat, its 540 calories and 32 grams of fat for the fried and 460 calories and 20something grams of fat for the grilled. Neither appeals to me so I won't be trying them, but I did recently try the McDonalds big mac snack wrap thing, it has over 300 calories but tasted pretty good. Thats not my thing either so I doubt I will ever have another.

I have seen the ad, but don't think I would go there. I love chicken but would want to make sure of the portion size that I consume. It would be too easy for me to overeat. I still and probably always will weigh things. I am getting pretty good at portion size guessing (my new pasttime). So when I do venture out to a restaurant, I will have the best chance of eating what I can.
I also like to cook my own meals if I can. It helps me to control portion size.

I"m with Leanne on this one.....the idea turns my stomach....but the smell of butter frying also makes me ill now...and I used to use a pound a week. Now a dark chocolate truffle with a cup of dark roast....that would get me going.....: ) Nothing wrong with craving things...and even sampling a bit if you can keep it in check. I"m just grateful the list of things I used to lust for is greatly dimiinished......Susan

I have made it a point to DO IT just for the PHOTO of me doing it to prove that I'd do it.
But, I haven't. LOL.
I want a grilled one, without the sauce. But, that sort of kills the point.
