WLS in Mexico?
Oh, the woman I showed in the video that had VSG the same day as me told me about that site but I could not find it because she did not remember the exact name. Thanks!

(Lost slowly and painfully from 355 to 275 from 2007-2009, then started gaining again before scheduling surgery! Best thing I ever did! :D)

Ya, it WAS stupid of her to blindly go into weight loss surgery... but that has nothing to do with not getting surgery in Canada. People in the US think the same thing, and the article mentions Canadians coming here. I will be a 3 hour drive away from my surgeon so I can still go to follow ups, I just need to bring my passport card. My surgeon is a member of 2 american associations for surgeons, he is a fellow (FACS) and had part of his training in Arizona. The hospital was nicer and cleaner than most of the US hospitals I have been in.
Just saying, I agree with the article in that it is stupid to rush into something and not be prepared or know what you are getting into.... 6K in TJ is not what I did or what many who travelled did. I was considering a US surgeon who is a 6 hour drive away from me. Dr. Aceves had cridentials that were comprable, in some ways the US surgeon surpassed Aceves, but in some ways Aceves surpassed him.
The key is not whether or not you cross a border, it's about getting the facts to find the best surgeon for you, and being emotionally, financially, and physically prepared for what happens because of the surgery.

PS just wondering if you watched the video, I noted my surgeon's credentials in it :)
