I am moving to southern CA so I am going back for my 3 month follow up, and will also stay at the lucern again :D This time I will be able to relax and enjoy one of the two pools, or maybe test them both out hehehe

The sleeve is different from a DS or RNY... intestines are not rerouted... so as long as adequate time for stomach emptying is given, eating solid food the day before is a non-issue :)
My tongue was blue because one of the leak tests they do is that blue dye is ingested and then they check your drains to make sure no blue hue is seen in the drainage.

I thought after 18 months to 2 years malabsoprtion is a mute point and that after that point the body has repaired and regenerated part of the intestines (I forgot the name of the things) and that vitamins are still malabsorbed but calories are not? I am not questioning you just learning... :)
Do they cut more of the intestines in order to have malabsorption again???

never mind, I started thinking about it and I understand now, because the design of a DS is different (the portion between the stomach and intestines is reattached) from RNY... man, imagining THAT seems like that would be a very major surgery and very tricky!!!

Well, from my understanding, it's putting the stomach back together that's the tricky part of a RNY-to-DS revision. I'm sure the re-routing of the intestines isn't a cakewalk, either, but it's not much different from doing a 'virgin' procedure.
In going from an RNY to a Sleeve only, there *should* be no malabsorption of vitamins, but---maybe even EXTRA absorption of calories, since in theory the body has been going extra villa to compensate for the initial surgery...

villa, that's the thing I was trying to remember the name of lol
ya that makes sense :)
malaborption of a couple of a hundred calories did not seem like that big of a deal to me.... did not seem worth it. As long as I keep my restriction (sleeve is "supposed to" be not as stretchy as rny)
I don't think I will be eating very many cals to begin with...

Well, with the full DS, the malabsorption's quite a big deal. I only absorb 20% of the fat I eat, about half of the protein I eat, and about 60% of the complex carbs I eat. (Alas, everyone absorbs almost 100% of simple carbs, darn it!) As a DSer, I eat around 2500-3000 calories a day, and I eat mostly protein and fat, so I only ABSORB around 1300-1500 calories. Which makes malabsorption a really BIG DEAL for me. (*grin*)
As for the stretchiness of the Sleeve---my DS stomach is the same as the Sleeve, and while I do still definitly have restriction at 6 years post-op, I can eat quite a bit more than I could at one year post-op. Close to twice as mich, in fact---but thanks to malabsorption, I'm still effortlessly maintaining 100% of my weight loss.
