You are welcome!  Yes it is a life time commitment!  Unfortunately everyone doesn't believe that!

It is very very easy for me to gain weight!  I have to work hard to maintain my weight loss.....but it is so worth it!!

Take care,

Ginger

Thanks for sharing this!  It's nice to hear from the long termers and yes they all say the same thing!  I beleive it!

I am so glad that even though I stalled for a long time, I got the QUALITY of my eating down BEFORE surgery and I can't imagine ever going back to a very high carb diet (I was a total carb addict through and through from the time I was a little kid up until I started low carbing).  It gives me such hope knowing that, that I WILL be successful, in the long term now that I have my trusty tool for the portion control side of things.  :D

That is good!  But the portion control part only last for a few years...later you can eat much more.  I was addicted to carbs so I never eat bread, rice, pasta, potatoes or sugar and I don't even miss it any more.

If you like you can go to my blog to read about the addictions and I also post many low carb recipes.

Good luck with your journey,

Ginger

Well, couple of things there... 1. From what I understand, with VSG there is some stretching, but not as much as RNY because the portion of the stomach that is left is the less stretchy portion.  So I am going to be very careful not to overeat.  2. The reason I stopped losing was not that I was eating way too much.... it is because my insulin is WAY too high and that prevents me from losing.  With weight loss surgery, I am forced to such a consistantly low volume of food that I will lose, and the fat cells themselves play a part in the insulin cycle.... it's a vicious cycle and a TOTAL catch 22.  So my hope is that once I reach a lower weight, my insulin will be in check and it will be easier for me to maintain my loss.

Still, I plan to be very very careful... even up to now I have worked TOO HARD to not have the results I seek and to KEEP them.  :)
