NOT EATING ENOUGH!!
I wish you all the best,
Audra
I didn't see your original post but I gather that you're having problems eating enough and still not losing?
If you're truly having issues with not being able to keep food down....then definitely call your surgeon. He needs to know.
Though at that point for me after surgery, there were foods that I just couldn't eat....and chicken was one of them. I also stuck to a few foods because that's all I could handle at the time. I introduced new foods very slowly and made sure to get my protein through protein drinks/shakes since that was the only way to get in enough protein each day.
I remember at about 5-6 weeks out going to a support group meeting and my surgeon was there. Afterward, I stopped him and said that I was frustrated because I wasn't losing weight. He looked at me and then at my still full water bottle and said "I see that you have the water....but not once did I see you drink any while you were here." True....I had carried that bottle around for hours without even a sip. He then told me that I needed to up my water intake and that would probably do the trick. It did. So if you're not getting in all your water each day, you might want to try drinking a little more.

I can not eat chicken unless it is in those hand held soups. I tried eating very small bites of grilled chicken and I immediatley got sick. Then I found out that chicken and turkey are two of the hardest meats to digest for us. There are some people that can tolerate it...but from what I saw most can't. I had my surgery 3 days before you and I am eating well cooked beans, finely ground hamburger meat, over cooked mac and cheese, beef and broccoli from local chinese place, the inside of an eggroll, yogurt, chili from Wendy's and mashed potatos. Which is what I think you should be up to ...BUT I know everyones body reacts differently. I think that you should schedule an appointment with your surgeon or call them and see if they can assist you. Because I would think you would be able to eat more by now. When I went to my one month post op I was told to lay off the protien shakes and depend on regular food and use the shakes as a last option or supplement for a fill in.
I just saw the post from Chris and this is true about the water. I drink about 56 to 64 oz of water a day and that has made a difference too!
I am sorry that you are having problems!
Since you can eat yogurt if you are not eating the greek yogurt check it out as it is higher in protein...you can also use it to make dips and in place of sour cream. If you can do pintos n cheese how bout some FF refried beans... add some LF cheese, sour cream and eat away. you could mix some tomato sauce with ricotta or cottage cheese and some LF cheese (mock lasanga, or mock pizza I think some people call it)... you could add turkey pepperoni if you can handle it. Even if you are done after 3-4 bites make sure you are eating multiple times a day... you should be taking 20 minutes to eat your meal and spacing out your bites, that may help you to get in more. Keep a food journal and see if certain foods are easier for you than others and make those your main foods so you can get more food in. Also adding in protein powder to what you are eating can help to boost the caloreis and protein.

My pouch is very sensitive in the mornings. I drink a cup of hot tea just about every morning. The warmth tends to settle my stomach. Sometimes I add cinimmon spice protein to my warm tea.
Hang in there. One morning you will wake up and realize you're eating just a little more than you were a month ago.
