Calling my secretary to ask if I had Surgery???
Yesterday at a meeting, a girl that use to work with our dept. saw me for the first time since surgery. She kept going on and on about my weight loss and even asked if I had surgery. My dept has 452 employee, I only told 4 people at work about the surgery. So I lied like a Big Dog on the front porch and said "No". (I wished I would have said "that's personnel"). Well this girl calls my secretary and asks her if I had surgery. My secretary knows I did, but told her and we don't visit like that. I'm so upset, that she's checking behind my back. WTH???
My son thinks the cat is out of bag now. That sooner or later she'll ask the right person and find out, cause she's on a mission now. What do think? What would be your next move? I think I'm just going to leave it alone...but be better prepared next time, I was in shock this time. I'm thinking I chose not to tell her from the beginning for the right reasons.

Dang!
That silly heifer needs a life, doesn't she?
you're better than I am. I am a terrible liar so I told the whole world. besides we eat together as friends often from work and they would have noticed not only better choices but incredibly smaller portions, then there's the whole vitamin ritual for me... I have alarms going off to remind me to take them... also when I eat and it does not sit well I need to lie down...
I guess it's my makeup I'm just amazed that folks can keep it a secret.
personally if you want it secret she's over stepped her bounds...

It is going to come out eventually from somewhere, somehow. Pretty much impossible to keep it a secret forever. That's why I chose to be open about it from the start. Easier just to tell the truth than have to keep track of a string of lies over time-gets very complicated. I know it is none of her business, but it happens. I didn't advertise thefact, but was honest when others would ask how I was losing the weight.

I would call her up and confront her. Ask her why she felt the need to contact your secretary after you had already responded and make sure that she know it is none of her business. Let her know if you felt that she needed to know anything about you that you would let her know. Then make sure the secretary knows that she should never devulge any info about you without consulting you first.
