PLEASE READ!!! LICENCE SUSPENED!!
I came back and re-read this and I so understand what you are going through! My original surgeon kept trying to PUSH me into lapband and I wanted RNY. He kept putting me off for months and months! I even went through all of his evals, consults and classes. FINALLY after 4 months he had his nurse call me to say he was not longer doing rny's!! He couldn't have told me this back in Jan of '09 that he no longer wanted to do rny's?!?!?! I was heart broken and so disappointed. I finally found a surgeon who would work with me and my disappointments. Like many of my friends here on OH kept telling, it all happened for a reason and I found the right doc for me! Most other surgeons will take all the classes and evals you have already done.
I will live each day in the mindful present

It will be interesting to find out the reason for the suspension. It could be substance abuse, prescribing controlled substances inappropriately, etc., or it could be that he had an affair with a patient. If it was the latter, shame on him, but it wouldn't make him a bad choice for a surgeon.
If he were in Iowa, I would be able to look him up. I'll try it in LA and see what I come up with.

Actually, if he is having sexual relationships with patients, that would make him a bad choice for a surgeon. There are reasons, very good reasons, why doctors are not allowed to have sexual relationships with patients. And it shows very poor judgment if a doctor does it anyway. I personally want a surgeon that has good judgment.
