Sounds fishy to me... this has to be your blessing in disguise. No Doctor suddenly retires, unless something has happened. Most doctors know a year or months ahead. This is the cruelest thing a doctor could ever do to his bariatric Patients. Unreal! You will be okay... I know every part of you is hurting now... but, you are strong and you will figure this out.

I live in the Toledo/Sylvania area does anyone know of a good surgeon that will accept me that takes my insurance I have Front Path. Brian Lane... I KNEW that name was familiar!  I don't know anything about him but I know he allows his staff to pose as patients and post on message boards, write fake testimonials, etc.

I have a mind like a steel trap!  Sometimes it keeps stuff in and sometimes it won't let new info process.  This time it kept stuff in. ;o)

I'd look at this as a bullet dodged to be quite frank.  Better to put off your surgery for a couple of weeks than to be wrapped up in an office such as this one.

I just can't believe a "medical professional" would go through all of that and then not even fess up when they got caught red-handed. Wow.

What idiot comes up with more IDs to cover up for the previous fake IDs?

And she was pushing herself as an asst. surgeon.  Not for me, thanks!

Okay, you're looking to get the RNY, so you can throw a rock in any direction and find a bariatric surgeon to do that one.  A DS is a different story, and there was a gal waiting to do the DS with Dr. Lane and now will have to really travel to get it, either to Dayton or Indy, most likely now.  If the office or hospital will give you no assistance, the next place to turn is your insurance company.  Explain what happened and ask for other surgeons in network.  Ask what you need to do to transfer your approval to another practice so you have that together, then get your records transferred from Dr. Lane's practice to your new surgeon.  You'll likely only have a few weeks delay.

Yes, but DON'T hit the RNY surgeon on the head with the rock. Talk about insult to injury.

If he resigned out of the blue, it's likely that there was some sort of problem going one.  Like, maybe he got in trouble for something.  I don't want to speculate about what it might have been because of course I have no way of knowing.  But it's probably a blessing in  disguise.

You'll  find another surgeon.  Yes, it will probably delay things a bit and that's a shame.  But it'll work out for the best.

I would go to the office ASAP and all your records. This is very important. I am sorry this happened, but I agree with some of the others, if he resigned out of the blue there must be something going on. I would look at this as a blessing. I know it must suck but you will find someone. Good luck and let us know how you make out.
