What do YOU think about an added tax on SODA and SOFT DRINKS?

We had a snack tax briefly in California, but it was so cumbersome and confusing, we had to give it up or spend those tax dollars on psychotherapy for store clerks!

I say go for it. It will give me even more of a reason not to buy it anymore.
I broke my addiction to caffeine in March of 2008 and then I broke my addiction to carbonation in July of 2008 just a week before my surgery. I think I was more addicted to the carbonation than the caffeine.

Omigosh, if they start taxing coffee I'll have to give it up ... but I would sorely miss my cuppa java.  Well, my many cups of java, who am I kidding.  Still a caffein addict!

Here they have been saying on the T.V. spots:   "Juice drinks and sodas" ..  (I thought they were saying "Jew's drinks", the first time i heard it       )

I'm fine with a tax on the the non-sugar free sodas and the juice drinks that have added sugar in them ..  They shouldn't penalize people for drinking the sugar-free or no-sugar-added ones, though ..

Frank talk about the DS / "All I ever wanted to be was thin, like that Rolling Stones dude ... "

I think the tax is ridiculous! The last thing we need is the government's grimy fingers taking ahold of another aspect of our lives! The less they are involved and the less taxes the better. It's peoples' choice as to what they eat and drink. I know we have a growing obesity epedemic but taxing unhealthy foods is not going to solve the problem. Look at cigarettes, they have gone up in price and it doesn't deter people from smoking. NO TO TAXES and NO TO BIG GOVERNMENT!

Happy Monday!
