My surgery was 5 weeks ago today. I have been looking for liquid Tylenol but culd not find it. Had 3 pharmacists tell me it did not exist.  While in Walgreens tonight, I stumbled across it.  It is called, "Tylenol Extra Strength ADULT Rapid Blast" .

This is the article I found on it from November of 2009.  It may be new.

"In the past, trying to find an adult pain reliever in liquid form was almost impossible. Most adult pain relievers were only available in pill form even though there are many adults who are physically unable to swallow a pill because of various medical and psychological conditions. Thankfully, Tylenol recently introduced a wonderful new product: Tylenol Extra Strength Adult Rapid Blast Liquid. This liquid version of Extra Strength Tylenol makes it easy for adults who can't swallow pills to seek pain relief.

Adult Liquid Tylenol available at most drug stores. This alcohol-free liquid Tylenol product comes in a standard 8 oz. bottle and is cherry-flavored to mask any unpleasant "medicine" taste. It is available in most big-chain grocery stores and drug stores. It may be a little harder to find in more rural areas or at small businesses. As this handy product becomes more popular, it is likely that it will become more readily available even in smaller areas. If you are unable to purchase this Tylenol product in your area, consider buying it online at places such as Amazon.com and eBay. In store, this liquid Tylenol generally retails for between $7 and $8 while online it can retail for as much as $10 based on demand."

I thought I should pass this along as some of my friends on the losers bench may need it too.  I wish I had it last week when I had that headache!!!

As with all liquids, you might want to dilute with water so you don't dump from the sugar in it.  Whatever dose you are taking, mix it with the same amount of water or crystal light.

I was not sure if it had sugar or sweetner.  I've been reading the bottle looking for the other ingredients and can't find them.

If you have a Wal-Mart close by it even cheaper!  Good Luck!

If they don't have it at your local WalMart, ask the pharmacist to order some. I buy mine at WalMart...it's cheap. (I also asked if they'll have the cheaper, generic WalMart brand any time soon and he said to expect it within a year.)

The ingredients list is usually below a box that lists the active ingredients.  Fructose in usually one of the inactive ingredients.  Robitussin also makes a sugar free product, but you need to be careful of the sugar alcohols-any ingredient that ends in ol would be a sugar alcohol.  Some people have adverse reactions to them.

I purchased this from Walgreens too. Cheaper that me getting a prescription and paying a co-pay
