Can you eat pizza and subs after surgery?

They can, but eating a lot of that stuff won't help you lose weight.  You should be able to eat just about anything in moderation, though.

Ha.

Yes, but... after a while.  And, not ever the way you may do it now.

I am six years out - and I can eat both.

The question is not so much can I eat it, it is more do I want to eat it. There is something done to my stomach that makes things different. My husband will go to the next town to buy pizza because it is a very thin crust and light on the toppings. I will eat a piece and then maybe have some the next day for lunch. I just do not crave it like I did before surgery. They say this will change but I don't know when.
Sub, I at a 1"piece of sub a month ago but I do not want to them. They are a lot of work to eat. I make my own so I know what is on it.  I do not have a problem with bread it is the lunch meat that needs to be chewed fine, plus they are high in fat which leads to stinky gas.

I can eat pizza, but I can only eat Papa John's pizza and usually 1/2 a slice at a time, and usually I can't handle the crust - it comes back up within minutes.

I can't eat bread at all, so no subs for me!

Yes.

But not the entire pizza or a 12" like I could preop.

I'm 5+ years post op and I can/have/do eat pizza.  I have a 10 year old, for crying out loud.

I never was one for sub sandwiches, though, so I don't really eat those.  But, I could, if I wanted to.

I believe that everything is acceptable, in moderation.  No foods should be off limits.  And the food police can just kiss my ass.

Yes on the pizza just get creative. I put all my toppings and sauce in a ramakin dish and broil it. Same flavor, high protein and no crust carbs.

I do have family who are 5+ years out and they can eat a slice no problem.

I have had pizza i have a young child that would live on pizza if i let him. We don't eat it every day or every week, maybe once in a blue moon.
I also have had subs from subway as well. I order the kids meal pack, normally a three inch sub loaded down with extra meat and cheese with veggies. then i normally pick the top off of the sandwich and eat the bottom , do i make it through the whole 3 inches, nope i do not.. most the time i just end up picking the meat, cheese and veggies off to eat alone. Bread can hurt sometimes. plus you get an apple for later on snack!!!
You can live life after surgery just make better choices then before and much much smaller choices.. take care
