You are not alone I have lost 217lbs and I stay cold! I am driving my family crazy with the heat in my house. I guess we have lost all that insulation and cushion but I have bought thermal underwear and everything that is just crazy to me because I have always been the hot one. You are not alone

Please tell me it's not so! NOOOOOOOO

I haven't  had the surgery yet. I'm freezing NOW and I'm in VA. If my feet get cold then that is all she wrote; they start cramping big time. Well THANK YOU Patt for starting this subject!

Actually that is a question that I have for my surgeon.

5 yrs out and after I reached goal I too was always cold....your body will adjust slowly and return to somewhat normal however watch your labs.....one symptom of getting cold and just not able to get warm is low iron......

Have a Great Day!

Glad I'm not the only one!  The last few days I swear I can feel my blood running cold throughout my body.  That is the weirdest sensation ever!

This was addressed at support group and the doctor said it is common to be cold because we do not have the insulation and our bodys thermostate has changed, for some he said it passes with time and some that are out future  say it has not passed.  For me I am in the lovely stages of menopause, so I am freezing and then bam a hot flash and I am dying.  I do arobics all day long, sweater on , sweater off, its drives me crazy.  Something for you gals to look forward too. LOL

I'm just over 14 months out from surgery and down 150 lbs and I've been freezing since my surgery.  My NUT told me last year that it would be the coldest winter of my life, but I think this year has it beat hands down.  I'm driving my husband crazy with the space heater on constantly.  My hands and feet are the coldest.  He got me a heated mattress pad for Christmas and I turn that thing on high about 2 hours before bed and it's HEAVENLY to crawl into.  I sleep with it on about 5.  He has yet to turn his side on, LOL.   I did have a space heater at work, but they took them away stating something about the fire marshall, so I freeze my butt of in the office now.  I have to work with my coat on and that doesn't help with my hands.  I'm even cold in the summer time with the AC on.  I live in Eastern NC and it gets HOT here.. I guess we are all in the same boat.. but I wouldn't trade it for the FAT back.
