We have all had our WOW moments...many of them vanity related as well as medical.

BUT....remember when we would break a sweat after going to the bathroom trying to clean ourselves????  I know I do!  I didn't realize this until this morning after my first void....it hit me like a ton of bricks!  DUDE, I am wiping myself without any struggle!!!

This brought back a memory from a few years ago when a co-worker who was actually smaller than I was said that she's gained so much weight it was getting hard to wipe after the toilet...I was embarassed because here I was probably 50lbs heavier and was thinking she had no idea! haha

Anyway, just had to share that tiny little realization....it brought a chuckle when I was thinking about it.

yup! and not breaking a sweat after a shower while trying to dry off and get dressed!!!

Isn't it wonderful!!!???

oh... and now I can use a regular bathroom stall while out .... before I had to use the handicapped because I NEEDED the room to manuever, and the higher toilet so that my knees wouldn't prevent me from getting up. Sometimes those grab bars were very handy!!!

Dont need them now! woo hoo!

ah yes!  The handicaped stall bars and higher toilet...see what we take for granted? haha

WLS was the best thing I did for myself on so many levels..

Stick with it and stick with us here at OH!

This has been a great hangout for me since surgery, well, even before surgery with all my anxiety etc...

Good Luck,

Seriously!!

And what about shaving your legs?  Used to take me FOREVER, trying to bend and contort myself in the shower....and now....SO EASY!! And so much faster, love it!!

I cried the day I could finally reach.  I would actually avoid places that high toilets because I knew I wasn't a contortionist.

Or doing the washcloth slap between the legs..lol

They are huge wow moments..

Raising my hand...I used to do the washcloth slap too!  Can't believe I'm admitting that.

** Sigh**  I cannot wait for the day I can wipe without it being a sporting event.  Of course I have to say that I am REALLY afraid of having to wipe - say - soon after the surgery and wondering how in the hell THAT is going to work??????     There's NO WAY I am asking anybody to wipe my bum.

ahh, shaving the legs...another luxury I can't wait to experience - and actually sit down in the tub to do it.  NO way I sit down now - I might never get up - my wrists are to weak to support myself to boost up...
