She was posting on the pregnancy board that she went to the ER for pains and found out she was 6 months along already.  She said she wasn't showing yet and wanted to know when she would get her baby bump! 

Crazy for someone to do that!

I have a quick question, the answer to which may be obvious but I'm just not seeing it...

I see in this thread some people responded saying "Oh wow, and I'm usually good at spotting fakes"... etc etc

So, does that mean that this happens often? I mean, if people are referring to "fakes" - as in PLURAL fake accounts - are there many fake accounts?

I'm not a newbie but I don't spend a ton of time on the forums... a moderate amount of time but not enough to know why someone would make a fake profile.

Anyone have any explanations to satisfy my curiosity?

I didnt mean fakes on here I meant fakes on the internet as a whole...I am not sure how many fakes are on here compared to real but I have found many people here are very nice....

 lol! That's good.... do you know why people make fake internet profiles? Are they just crazy, or have some kind of attention complex or something? It just seems so odd - making a real profile is time consuming enough, but to totally fake an identity that no one can verify ANYWAY, its not like you know who I really am and I know who you really are in REAL life right? So why don't they just make a profile for themselves and just lie about who they are rather than steal someone else's identity.

Some people just have no lives or are scammers or people just trying to cause trouble hell they even want to just fill some need for attention and posting things like she did makes them look like they have such horrible lives and want to have someone pay attention to them and feel bad for them...
I think they are pretty sad to come on here and post like that and steal someone elses troubles and works in life...

As someone who was taken in by on of these scanners on OH I can tell you that sometimes it is very difficult to spot the liars and cheats. He'll, just recently I was burned by someone I trusted implicitedly and I met them here.

Anytime you go out on the web you take a chance - and sometimes we get burned. Trust me in that I know that more than most and still seem to want to believe people. I didn't spot this fake and I'd think I'd have a pretty good judgement. Apparantly I just suck.

I'm not sure what the implication here is..?
