I was able to tell right way with the first two. I have had numerous Dr appt and er visits and none of them knew either. In fact I went to the ER last month with stomach pains and was given morphine and anti nausea meds and sent on my way.

I could tell before I was LATE. :o

But I got pregnant at 232 lbs (size 18/20), and was 232 lbs the day I went into labor.  I never gained an ounce.  When I delivered, I was a 14/16.   I Iost 30 lbs of fat and gained 30 pounds of baby, apparently, breaking even in the end.

I just looked fat for most of the pregnancy.  My baby bump didn't LOOK like a baby bump until I was 7 months along.  I could sleep ON MY STOMACH until 7 months, for pete's sake!

So, if I ignored the zits, the migraines, the aversion to smells, the nausea, and the lack of appetite, I can ALMOST see how someone might not know they were pregnant for that long.

My SIL was six months along before she knew it.  She said she had rested the remote on her flattish stomach and my nephew, who she didn't even know was in there, kicked it across the room!

Yall I came here cause I am scared to death of being pregnant. My first two times were horrible. I was high risk and every bad thing that could happen did. Now Here I am 6mo and I have not gained one pound not one in fact I am still losing down to 153 I have not adjusted my signature or health tracker but this morning I was 151. How is this baby going to be ok if I cant gain weight? I called my surgeon and he said that everything I eat witch is about 900 cal per day will go to the baby and what I can not give the baby through food it will take from my body IE this is going to be hard on my body. I have a 8 year old and a 5 year old who are both excited enough for me and my husband. Oh and guess what my husband is deployed in Afghanistan right now and will not be back in time for this birth. I am so depressed it is hard to even make it out of bed. Everybody expects you to be so happy but I am not it is not good and I think I am getting worse day by day. I have been on depo for 3 year never missed a shot how why what am I going to do?!

Oh and another thing people look at me like I am crazy when I say I just found out and I was already 6mo I mean how was I to know I didn't feel or look pregnant or at least I don't think I look 6mo for sure. I am also scared that I will get fat again I know that should be my last worry but it does worry me :(

You need to tell all of this to your doctor -- have you got an OB yet?  Please, please... go, and tell them all of what you are feeling.

I am going today to my PCP for my referral to a OB and I will tell him everything. I will keep everyone posted with how I am doing thanks so much for being here.

I had my baby pre-op, but I didn't gain a single pound the whole time.  Baby takes EVERYTHING when there's insufficient nutrients, so try not to worry too much.   Give yourself time to let the shock wear off and then you'll be able to find joy in this.

Your baby will get what it needs. You may not but the baby will take everything it needs and you get the left overs. My getting pregnant with my first was the best thing to happen to me. I lost even more weight and my baby was fine. Take care and just get good prenatal care.

I was so done having babies when I got pregnant with my third child, we used protection and shouldn't have conceived.  When I told my husband I was pregnant he actually said F***.  Now that my son is here we all feel he was always meant to be part of the family, even though we didn't plan it.  I can only imagine how scared you are!  That's crazy to be 24 weeks and not even know it, but it does happen.  Take care!

Many women don't gain weight when they are pregnant - they change their diet and start exercizing and take better care of themselves, so they don't gain at all, they just lose fat and gain baby simultaneously.  You are going to be fine on that front.

I highly encourage you to visit the pregnancy board here at OH to talk to other post-op moms and pregnant ladies.

Definitely talk to an OB right away and your surgeon.  I know it's a crazy surprise and a HUGE change in plans, so take some time (is some counseling available to you?) to wrap your head around this.

Best of luck!

Yeah, I'm part of the "pregnancy is not always rosy" club.

You need to get in with a high risk OB now.  You need a full blood panel as well.

Good luck.  I feel for you.
