Yes, they do.

Honest to Christ, why wouldn't they? They're a hospital, which is what the insurance coordinator (or one of them) told me over the phone, so why wouldn't they take it?

Call them tomorrow during regular business hours.

The only person you're going to get right now is the SWITCHBOARD OPERATOR who doesn't know ANYTHING ABOUT ANYTHING BEYOND OPERATING THE SWITCHBOARD. You know how I know that? I just called them again and that's what the switchboard operator said to me.

NORMAL BUSINESS HOURS.

DO YOU UNDERSTAND THAT WORDS THAT ARE COMING OUT OF MY MOUTH?

(I jus****ched Rush Hour and Rush Hour 2, in that order. You are the Jackie Chan to my Chris Tucker.)

Seriously, you can't be a real person.

I already commented with the number.

You did not just talk to someone that talked to THE surgeon. If that really happened, tell me the surgeon's name. I'm sure you don't know it. You would know it, though, if you paid attention to my comments. I've already commented with the hospital's name, their bariatric surgeon's name, a link to their website and their phone number.

You need to learn how to read, use the 'net, use a phone book, ask questions until you get an answer, and how to do your own research.

Well honey, then you're just going to have to figure out how to TRAVEL a little bit if you really want to have surgery.

Years ago, when I first started this process, I was involved with with a surgeon who had a $5,500 program requirement for EVERYONE. While there, I met a woman who was living on $535/month on disability....In New Jersey. Where the cost of living averages at least 130% of the US average.

Fast forward a little over six years. I went a different path, had a different surgery with a different surgeon, for which I paid CASH. I was at a store shopping for supplements and encountered a woman who looked like she'd had WLS because of the obvious hanging skin, plus I saw what supplements she was getting. I started a conversation. Guess who? Yup, same woman. STILL paying off that $5,500....Over 300 pounds lighter. Working full time and going to school full time. Totally transformed in health. Able to walk. DELIGHTED with her success.

It's time for you to decide how badly you want out of your rut and then MAKE. IT. HAPPEN.

Oh, so you have to come up with a few hundred bucks for a fee? Tough crap. You want it badly enough, you'll make it happen. Go learn about places that do microloans. Talk to people in your church and make a contract with them to borrow ten bucks each and pay them back at ten cents per month. Go find some church folks who will shell out a couple hundred bucks for their brother in Christ to save. his. life.

Talk to church folks about getting in contact with other church folks in the town where you COULD get surgery. It's called networking. You can get a place to crash on someone's couch. You can work out the transportation thing. I grew up in Montana, where there is NO public transit, and managed to get clear across the state and back, without hitchhiking or otherwise making myself unsafe, when I really wanted to go somewhere. If it can be done in Montana, it can be done in Texas.

Don't you DARE throw this back in God's face. God is about the POSSIBLE, not about the impossible. Oh ye of little faith!!!

Poor baby, you might have to travel a few hours? Tough crap. What makes you so incapacitated and unable to THINK that you can't work that out? What kind of spineless weakling are you?

I do NOT believe you know "lots" of people who had horrible complications, died, etc. Maybe they didn't lose all their weight. Tough crap. You can sit there as you are and die a lot slower than you want to die (and believe me, I've been a lot closer to dead than I bet you are now, wanna trade obesity war stories? Go read my profile and then come whining to me), or you can take a chance on losing half your excess weight and just maybe GETTING A LIFE.

You have INSURANCE THAT WILL COVER YOUR WLS. You have more than a LOT of the people right here on this forum have. So quit your pansy assed whining and man up already.

If you think you can't pay for post RNY food on food stamps, you're delusional. You won't eat enough food post RNY to make up the difference between buying REAL food on food stamps and whatever crap you eat now. Use Angel Food Ministries and get a month's worth of protein food for $30 on your food stamps.

It's time for you to stop thinking in terms of "can't, won't, failure, death," etc. and turn your life around.

OK - first learn how to spell and use correct grammer.

That said - I am a Texan too and I will say that I regret geting WLS.  But that said, you have to do all the research before you make the decision. I made my decision w/o having all the facts. YES - can you bleed to death, and you can have serious complications, and you can die from  being fat.

I do not know the answer for you - but you need to explore all of your option. My regrets for having WLS are due to my not being overweight enough to warrant it and having some other conditions that are NOT addressed w/ wle.
