Call them tomorrow. Ask to speak to their billing department. They will tell you that they do in fact take Medicaid for bariatric surgery. She added that you'll have to jump through some hoops, but that's normal.

and they do not take Medicaid I talked to 3 people myself so whoever you talked to gave you the wrong information

in Order for Medicaid to pay for it the center has to be a center of excellence and Longview Regional isnt

I talked to the billing/insurance department, the switchboard operator (she got a kick out of me!) and one of the bariatric nurses.

You can wait until tomorrow and talk to the billing/insurance people.  They'll have a better idea of what's going on than the medical staff.

why bother this guy seems just plain not interested!! sorry not trying to be mean but if anyone wants to have wls there are things to do & ways to do them & he has an excuse for it all!! i fought all kinds of hurdles to have mine but that is because i wanted it bad enough that nothing could of stood in my way.... thats the attitude anyone why wants it bad enough should have... just my oppinion not trying to be mean it is a choice by all & if you dont want it you just dont want it!!

Yep, I know. Mostly I called them just to prove that he isn't being pro-active in his health. If he's happy sitting around waiting to die instead of paying just under $200 to get things rolling, more power to him.
