Hi Hun .   I read Your post with great sadness because I know what happiness having this surgery gave me in just three and a half short months .  It's not "just " a weight issue its so much more - I was unhealthy , depressed , basically sleepwalking through my life .

It saddens me that U  don't insist that U deserve more.  I hope You reconsider - yes the  ( necessary) tests are a pain in the butt and ( it sounds like ) expensive for U too but where there's a will there's a way - have U thought about asking Your pastor if he knows someone who can put you up in the Austin area ?   Or going to an Overeater's Anonymous meeting and explaining your situation and asking for help?

Or just simply looking for a modest and clean hotel / motel deal online ?  I hope U don't give up - but were here for You however U decide .   Come to chat and talk about it !  You're ALWAYS welcome .

Sorry to hear that.

You know, if you pay attention to the hundreds (thousands?) of people on this board posting their success stories, you'll see that what you're saying is only true for a very small percentage.

Also, $115 to learn about proper nutrition and $75 for exercise is a small price to pay for good health and a lot cheaper than being fat for the rest of your life.

There are also other surgeries out there besides the RNY. Use this board to educate yourself...or, y'know, use the 'net in general to learn more about things. What has been true for your friends isn't true for everyone.

What health problems are you dealing with? How much weight do you need to lose?

You get $674 a month. If you need to take two months to save $115 + $75, it really isn't that hard to do, unless you completely suck at saving money (which some people just aren't good at).

Are you posting here because you want someone to change your mind about having surgery or are you posting here for sympathy? If it's for sympathy, you're probably  not going to get it. You have insurance - many people here do not and they have had to pay a hell of a lot more than $190 to have their surgery.

And if Jesus was handing out gorgeous bodies, there would be no fat Christians.

Thanks! :) I wish I didn't have to make the picture so bright, but my camera makes the pictures so dark.

... or bad WLS surgeons who always cause bad results.  Or insurance that doesn't cover WLS.

What **** poor attitude. You want to wallow in pitty, go ahead; you want to give up, curl up in a ball and die; go ahead.  But don't bring Jesus in to it, and claim that he makes it all O.K.  If you want to bring religion in to this decision of yours, compare your suffering to that of Job's.

Yes I am a Christian too, and for you or anyone else to play the " woe is me, I guess I'll just lay here and die, but at least I'm saved" card, instead of fighting for your life, is just wrong and cowardly.  What's next?  Are you just going to blame God?   It must be his will that you die fat and scared in Texas.  You want to give up, curl up in a ball and die, that is your choice;  but don't try to do it as a martyre.
