I loved loved loved water aerobics when I was in Ohio and have not found decent, good priced classes in my area here in Miami. One place had decent class but membership was $60 a month and I didn't like the elipticals and the pool was only open during classes...so if I missed class too bad for me...also wasn't really close by my house. So now an LA Fitness is opening up nearby and they are suppose to have water aerobics, I'm going to use a free pass and visit another LA in the area to see how the class is. I just ended a membership with Bally's for ummm numerous reasons...all equating to poor customer service...actually I didn't even ask to cancel they canceled me...lol...anyway I realized that for my lymphedema I need water workouts...period....I was over doing it with the other stuff. So anyone belong to LA Fitness and take their water classes???

Yeah I need more of a workout than what is often water arthritis class. In Ohio I was at a college and was surprised the range of ages, a few older women but also many young college students...we'd do heart rate checks and I was always in range. When I moved here and worked at a college there was a class for a short while during a summer but it wasn't fast paced I never felt like my heart rate was getting going...the pool was small also and outdoors so rain or storm and we were canceled. When I first started exercising in water years ago...just walking there were always many old ladies and a few men, it was nice talking with them and sometimes I stayed and did the arthritis class because the instructor knew me.

i took it a couple times at LAfitness.  i wasn't impressed.  not much of a workout, but i suppose it would be good depending on your level of fitness to begin with.

See that's what I'm afraid of...my level is high I can easily do 30 min eliptical and an hour of various weight machines...the problem is my body, well my lymphedema, doesn't like that much strain and I swell despite wearing compression garments while working out. I can use the gym at the nearby university where I used to work because I'm also alumni so the only reason to join LA is for the water aerobics...which I fear suck.

it could have been the instructor - she just didn't seem all that enthusiastic and whatnot.  it was very humdrum.
