Congrats on your WLS!  Does your WLS do pannis?  If you haven't asked already, ask.  Some people do opt to not have a belly button.  My surgeon never asked me that question however.  He just went ahead and gave me an awesome new one in the area it was meant to be in.

I'm coming up on my 3 year anniversary of my WLS and I still can't believe what a change it is.

It might be a good idea to post on the plastics board - if you're looking for a surgeon in NJ.  Best of luck to you.

Hello again! Just wanted to weigh in, in agreement. As you know, mine was the day before yours and identical in every way except I knew I wasn't getting a belly button. I didn't know I had the hernia like you till she got in there in the same exactly place. SOO, we are mostly the same. :)
No pain either and feel guilty even the last few days..

BCBS also, and the only thing submitted by my PS for approval was pictures of the panni hanging down below my pubis and notes that I had a rash under it. I was approved within a week. She took off 8lbs of skin. My brain still isn't comprehending the change. Once these drains are out (tomorrow) I will be so happy!
