Is he suggesting another option?  Another surgery type?  Anything at all?

He said maybe in the future i might be able to have the lapband. they have to find out why my esophagus is so narrow first.   it can't be too narrow i sure never had any problems getting food down it.    I don't want to even think about another surgery. all this pain for nothing.

Since they didn't cut into your stomach or intestines the pain really shouldn't last long.  I'm assuming it was done lap vs. full open incision?  If it was full open it's going to be an ouchy for awhile.

A band?  Bands are really hard on your esophagus.  Have you considered a 2nd opinion?

I truly understand what you're feeling but you've got to push past feeling like a victim and this pitty-party - I don't say this to dismiss any of your ordeal. I say this only because so long as you stay focused on these very negative feelings, you cannot do anything proactive to move forward, get the surgery you need (even if it means doing some sort of fix to your esophogus), and making your dreams comes true of living fully in a fit, beautiful, strong body. Assuming this is why you opted for WLS in the first place? If I'm wrong, please share - best of luck, Maureen

I'm not trying to have a pity party! I just got out of the hospital yesterday. there is no moving forward yet. as of right now and the experience i just had i don't want to do anything.  the first words out of my mouth when i woke up were i'm gonna be skinny!  i'm a bit devestated right now sorry!

Do not apologize for being devastated! You have every right to be. And if you want to grieve and be sad, you have every right to. Hang in there, where theres a will theres a way, and you will get back up!
I will say a prayer for you, Julie

And I'm sorry if I was insensitive. Of course, you feel devestated. It is unbelieveable what you have been through and I really hope you hold your surgeon accountable for this. You will heal faster by walking as soon as you can, as much as you can. Take good care of yourself, and I hope you accept my apology. Maureen

Unfortunately, I guessed you would get a few insensitive replies....hence ppl that can't comprehend Everything DOES happen for a reason , at least if you are a spiritual person.

Think of how lucky you are to not have ended up w/ a botched RNY...or Lord forbid, life threatening complications. Now that you know you have this issue (notice: not "problem") you can be better informed & choose a surgeon & procedure that will best suit you. I am SURE there is another method/surgery out there that will be just for you & help you w/ WL.

As for your pity party....go ahead...have one for a few days while you're home!!! After that, get right back up & continue this journey.
Again, I wish you the BEST!!!
