CONFUSED ATKINS VS ENSURE Shakes
Hey Piper,
Welcome to the board.
*" what the timeframe is until I could possibly have surgery performed?" This is tricky, many people can give you a different answer, from a few weeks to months and even a year or longer. This is going to depend on what your doctor requires for preop testing and how your ins. is going to act. People are approved in as little as 2 days and others have to get lawyers to appeal their ins. companies decision.
*"what is the type of weight loss I can hope to achieve with this surgery?" Again this is a question that will get many different answers. Everyone looses at different rates. It depends on metabolism for one and wether you are exercising and eating healthy, lowfat foods. You can eat junk and gain weight if you aren't exercising and only eat junk foods. There are also people who have lost over 200 pounds with lapband, so you will get many different answers with these questions.
You are right that lapband doesn't loose as fast as gastric bypass, but I wouldn't have considered gastric bypass for any amount of money. I'm 8 1/2 months out and have lost 67 pounds since surgery. Do the research and weigh the pros and cons and decide on what is best for you and your situation.
