Why can't I have SUGAR? (I am 7wks post op RNY)

You are right Chili.  I guess I hadn't looked at it that way.  As a mother of 3 Ibelieve in tough love for sure.  I just worry that Lisa won't reach out for help again if she needs it.  Possibly other post-ops may hesitate if they have a question or need advice after reading the harsh comments she received.  That would be too bad because we are all here for support....this isn't easy!

Also nobody is perfect.

I applauded his comment because I agree that if someone is posting on here with a sincere question they shouldn't be attacked.  I also liked the part about actions have consequences....thats a good thing to keep in mind for all of us.

she can FEEL anything she wants.  it doesn't make it so.   I don't think anyone attacked her.  I know that she FELT that way... but I don't see a single attack here...

I know everyone had good intentions and certainly "attacked" probably wasn't the best word choice.  I do think a few of the comments were a bit harsh.  I'm not usually one to join in these debates because I think everyone has a right to their opinions...be it nice or not.  There is something to learn from all the comments, especially the harsh ones.  Wishing I would have just kept my mouth shut.

Live and learn

did you really think me telling her to talk to her nutritionist was attacking?

I honestly didn't think I was being mean at all

Judi-

No I don't think you were attacking Lisa.

I know you were trying to be helpful.

FWIW I am 11 weeks out and my husband is 16 weeks out today and neither of us has deviated from plan.  no straws, no gum, no sugar,  no drinking 30 minutes before, during or 3o minutes after eating.

We have both followed the doctors written plan to the letter.     come look in my windows, they are shiny clean.

I happen to think that Judi is right that maybe the OP needs to get some counseling on how to deal with addiction..... and it is an addiction.

so  umm yeah I think at 7 weeks tempting fate and testing the pouch when the goal is to learn healthy eating is NOT a good idea.

That's awesome that you and your Hubby have stuck to the plan, congrats, but this thread is not about YOU, it's about a gal who had a sincere question...
