My wife drives me nuts every year on Thanksgiving insisting I give her a list of stuff I want for Christmas. She then goes out on black friday with her sister and shops.

Well that is all fine and good until I finally get around to looking to buy stuff for her.

In the 15 years we have been married she has yet to give me a list of stuff whe wants for Christmas!  It drives me totaly nuts!! Her answer is "Well you know me, why can't you just get me something you think I would like.."

PLZ!!!!!

Why do women make it so darn hard for men ????

This sort of story makes me glad that my husband and I have a mutual agreement not to buy each other gifts on the holidays.
So Blessed!

I don't Christmas shop anymore.  I don't expect people to buy me stuff either.
I enjoy the holiday much more without the stress.

Great question man!

I've wondered the same thing for years.  Back when I was married, I bought my then-wife what I thought was beautiful lingerie, except that I had overshot the size by several numbers.

She was so upset that she never again expected me to just KNOW what to get her, so she'd drop major hints.

I look forward to reading the answers that the women give here, but I suspect its got something to do with the whole "Its the thought that counts" sentiment.

Is that Gandolfini in your avatar?

I'm sorry Bryan.  We ladies really really love to have been well considered.  Not that guys don't.  But it's not any fun if I have *tell* you what to get me.  Granted that's exactly what I had to do for the five years I was married (newly divorced here) but it was a big bummer.  We tend to like to know how much you've put thought into it because it's a reflection of how much you care!

Providing a list is sort of like getting a gift card - no thought required. I can just buy MY OWN gifts, then! Why exchange gifts at all?

My BF asks for a list every year and I happily oblige.  Our first Xmas together I got windshield washer fluid and other car stuff all wrapped up.  I took that as a sign of Love--he just wanted to be sure that I would be safe driving!
