Thank you for responding. I'm hoping for a very wide variety of legitimate people to give some validity to an informal survey.

It does not matter which surgery type it is, everyone is in love with their surgery type the first six months. Once they have lived with that surgery type for a year then you get a more balanced answer and face it, most posting are noobs. In no way are you going to get anything close to a balanced answer. My first six months I would have been raving about the band even though it almost killed me and face it, how many banded folks that are newbies have needed revision surgery?
I responded but please don't assume this is the least bit balanced.
I did. GACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I decided to be lazy, I used canned. Someone told me that the stems are still in there when it's canned. They were absolutely right! They don't taste very good.
I got canned, two ham hocks (those are disgusting, btw) some salt, pepper, an onion, and cooked them well. The greens are good but it's hard avoiding the stems.
Ham hocks... they are GROSS after they have cooked. I didn't realize it was mostly fat. I gotta try it with something else next time.
I also think... tell me if I am wrong, but when I removed all the greens from the liquid (just an hour or so ago) the broth might make for a good soup. What do you think?
I'm going to do it with fresh next time so I know the stems are gone, I think that will make all the difference in the world. Greens are not a finger food. With stems.. they are a finger food. ;o)
