And he is a very nice man, to boot!

He made the joke that he often gets confused with "Jared" from the Subway commercials.

And pictures do not do him justice.

I had the pleasure of meeting him in person in Atlanta.

Nice pic, Nicolle,

I did not start nor propagate the poop issue. Maybe you should contact OH and have then change the list of common side effects on their DS forum . You all keep saying it is a myth but there it is in black and white on your forum. What am I supposed to think? Because it does not happen to you does not mean it does not happen to anyone.

I have arthritis and take nsaids. I just take losec first.

Dr. Davis' stats does not show him ever having performed even one DS. It shows all lap bands and RNYs

Hi Maggie,

Most of the information regarding surgeons on OH is not up to date.

Also, and I don't mean to stir things up, but false information is everywhere on the internet.  I assume this also means OH.  I think that there may be cases of the poop issue with certain people, what the side effects list doesn't mention is that the poop issue can almost always be controlled and becomes a non issue depending on the foods you eat.  I know a lot of people have issues with white flour for example.

So I guess that some people who have had the DS will dump if they eat white flour.  Some people will dump if they eat too many sweets.  It's just a different form of dumping...

At least, this is my take on it.

His staff says he will start doing them in 2010.

Not sure why you take an acid reducer so you can take NSAIDS and for how long that is a good idea, but I'm sure your medical team has that and every aspect of your life well in hand. But be sure and trust them implicitly. Oh, and when they discover your iron has tanked, make sure they remember you are on Losec, as they should be combined very carefully. Oh nevermind, that would mean advocating for yourself and challenging your medical team. Must not do that.

Of course she won't question the STELLAR advice she receives from her god-like medical team.  Of course, with the associated B12 deficiency she also gets from the Losec/Omeprazole (Prilosec), the osteoporosis will be the least of her worries.

Giving an RNY to someone who chronically needs NSAIDs sounds like ... oh, I dunno -- a mistake??  And when a better surgical alternative was available, which the surgeon should have known -- could be called something else.

Or how the PPIs will cause the bone to thin as the osteoclasts are, hey! proton pumps as well.

But we won't tell her that because it's just us weirdos on the internet.
