I'm not exactly an expert on wls, but if you had lapband, doesn't that mean you haven't been cut yet?

Are you kidding?

And how exactly do you think they put that band around the top of a patient's stomach?  That would be around the OUTSIDE of the stomach, as in, it can't be placed by going in down the throat.

Another one who apparently believes all of the millions poured into the marketing hype by the manufacturers of the band -- non-invasive, my ass.  Ask any bander who has had to have their band dug out of their tender stomach tissue how non-invasive that foreign object, that was surgically inserted, really is.

This is why I'm thankful that, overwhelmingly, it's the higher IQ patients who are having the DS.  I don't have clinical data on this, but I am willing to bet the farm on it.  Even my surgeon told me he wouldn't perform a DS on someone who was not clearly intelligent (I am paraphrasing.)  Let the idiots stay in Dumbass Land.

Maybe you should get your head out of your ass, Bertha.

Seriously, no cuts to put in a Laff-band? You think they make you swallow it and, like a trained monkey, it somehow magically wraps itself around your stomach?

You have to be cut to get that sucker inside of you. There is anesthesia and everything. It's major surgery.

I had the kick-butt duodenal switch (DS)!

I choose the one cut, I dropped Rny like a hot potatoe,Oct  09, it,s DS all the way !!!!  The revision board speaks for it,s self ( FAILERS ). And I,m just, not willing to try something long term that has stats of failing, I could understand one here or there, but pages full of failers.. I,ll be flamed but it,s the truth, what will you do if you fail, most of the flaming is coming from this years post-op, ( not  ) long term post-ops  )! We all have failed at losing weight long term thats why we all came here to OH, and have chosen WLS. I just don,t want to fail again ! ONE CUT, your choice !
