WARNING TO PRE-OPS: Think twice, cut once -- or else!
The only “bashing" in my earlier response to you was for your temerity in wagging your finger and trying to tell me how I should post on the message board, especially in a thread that WAS NOT DIRECTED TO POST-OPS LIKE YOU in the first damned place. The rest of the post was factual information about the DS and the dangers of revisions. Do you have some reading comprehension issues in addition to your English language problems? For example, in one single (albeit run-on) paragraph:
*
* The phrase is “say your piece" not “say your peace."
* Do you not know the difference between being called a name, and being invited to perform an unnatural act upon yourself?
If you are so “sensitive" that you can’t read these message boards without taking things THAT ARE NOT EVEN ADDRESSED TO YOU so personally, I strongly suggest that you take a break from OH until your hormones settle down, until you get a grip on that life-long diet you signed up for, or at the very least that you block me – you can’t seem to handle my posts without getting your panties in a bunch.

"I am not some complete moran. "
You mean THIS KIND of "moran?" You might be.
Your statement "Everyone must choose for themselves what they want done to their bodies." is right on, AND part of the intention of this thread. Newbies (pre-ops) need to choose, but they also need to know what their choices ARE.

I worked with my DS friend so I am aware of her bowel issues and we worked together on a medical floor. I have known her for almost 20 years. Why the hell would I lie about it? If I ever wanted to back up my opinion, I'd just go to the DS site and quote a DSer who has had the same problems.
I did not come to a DS site looking for a fight. This is posted on the main board. I don't go to DS sites very often. Just mostly when I was doing research on my wls. Many people( not all, some are very nice and actually helpful) on there are definately hostile. Strange thing is, I've seldom found that reaction on any of the other wls sites. Maybe that tells you something?
This is posted on the main board and basically says " If you have had the stupidity to have had any other surgery except DS then you have blown your one and only insurance paid wls." The post also says basically "If you are considering wls you would be stupid and ill advised to choose any of the other useless ineffective surgeries except of course DS because DS is the be all end all of wls." According to Diane every other wls except DS is a waste of your insurance coverage. Correct me if that is not what she is saying because that is what I read.
It's great that you love your DS so much but people who are having great success with their choice of weight loss feel the same about their choice.
Oh yeah, Mr. Apologise, maybe you should. Pity you can't have an intelligent debate or discussion like an adult without having to resort to profanity and childlike name calling. Bye all!

I LOVE MY RNY !!!
2 years down, a lifetime to go!!!!
LIVE, LAUGH, LOVE, NOBODY GETS OUT ALIVE
And given you just said you are in the medical field, shame on you for not taking your vites! You should know better.
As to this thread, the OP was trying to tell people of her vast experiences with insurance companies. Most people are unaware that they may have a lifetime cap of ONE on their weight loss surgeries. That will follow them everywhere, no matter who their insurer is.
Gone are the days of "oh, if this X doesn't work out, I can have Y later." I think that is a valid, helpful point, especially since we hear that kind of talk here on the MB, band and VSG boards all of the time. "Oh, I'll try this and if it doesn't work out, I will get revised to the DS." You will likely get ONE turn at WLS people!
Now, you may not agree with someone's delivery, but the message is the same:
Protect yourselves people. Investigate all of your options. Think about who you are and if you are good at dieting. Think what success means to you. How long do you want to keep the weight off? Is 50% EWL enough? Is not resolving your diabetes okay with you? Your insurance will pay for ONE surgery. Pick one that works.

no it does not say that. are you stupid and cannot comprehend that it says that many policies include a stipulation that you are entitled to one wls per lifetime.
sheesh!
