I didn't read the posts, so can not comment on that, BUT posting YOUR full name, and town you live in might not be a good idea.....

Read the thread that briannaslosing has posted the link to.  It makes the whole thing pretty clear on who is the "victim"  and it isn't Darcie.  She seems to be the instigator..

Darcie Leigh - Before and After

Meet our Lap-Band® Program Coordinator, Darcie Leigh.
Darcie had weight loss surgery in 2000 and has maintained her 185 pound weight-loss. Darcie has helped hundreds of patients navigate the insurance process and guide them through their Lap-Band® journey into weight loss success.

You're in a public forum with your full name -- it happens.  Frequently.  If you're going to want to stay in a public forum -- you're going to have to get used to it.   It's not worth the drama, seriously.

Ok So I read all the replies and the numerous private messages and understand who this person is and what they do. Ive read that persons profile, lack of actual documentation of experience and success and blatant promotion of mexico and mexican surgeries.   Ina span of 7 minites that person posted 5 times... clearlly has an agenda with me ---Thats fine.....

Im not promoting anything... Im Just offering my 9 years experience of very succesful weightloss with the pictures and proof to back it up.  When new post are upset and confused I love to let them know it does get better and you can live happily and successfully with WLS..... I dont hide behind an avatar because most people prefer to see real evidence of your success.

I am starting a new WLSsupport group in TEMPE and wanted suggestions of what patients really want to talk about.  I had always been under the direction of 1 surgeon.  Im not anymore.... I dont have to follow 1 surgeons plan or idea.   A concept and fact that was clearly lost by this person.  Not having to follow 1 surgeon's plans -- I really want some constructive ideas.... I have my own -- I thought Id get an idea from others....My biggest was figuring out what to eat with 2 small kids and running around - now those kids are big - I attned many business dinner and events -- Ive figured out how to do that too.... But this group isnt going to b e all about my ideas either -- so if you want t post on the AZ board and give consturctive ideas great... thanks... I would appreciate it.... If you want to just go there and trash me - dont bother -- its silly....

Having been with OH since 1999 and being a modertaor for them for years I remember others who had situations..... But with such a smaller group we were much more supportive of each other and there was less pettiness.... But thats fine.....

if you want to know if I really lost the weight and really kept if off for 9 years - proof is there... Yes I really work with Lap-Band patients in AZ and have for 4 1/2 yrs.  (just because I had a different surgery doesnt mean I can't understand really well how Lap-Band works.... ) My job is to help them through the insurance approval process so they too can obtain their WLS and move on to a healthier thinner life and achieve their goals. I still email with RNY and DS friends as well and share --- Its so rewarding.... In 9 years Ive worked with thousands and thousands of patients - BYPASS and LAP-BAND; pre-op through post op and even personally and through emails  to get back on track and keep the weight-off.   I really do know what works and what it takes to be a long term successful patient.

I spoke at many OH events from 2001-2005.  And I moderated the boards and chatroom  from 1999-2004.   I enjoyed it a lot. I forgot the pettiness that sometimes occurs when someone feels offended. I am learning this new format - much different than the old one.  I hid my old profile because Im in a new phase of my life and past is past.... I am taking out the relevant parts of that one and recreating it here ---So much of the pre and early post journey is just like what people are going through on here now.... Years changes, thoughts feeling and concerns dont.

I found out last night about several of my old friends from here and  horrible illness, accidents and passing. Its very sad and with all of the life changes Ive had I came back to OH to reconnect with the support system I had 10 yrs ago. Sad that 1 person decided to follow my various posts around.... Oh well..  The positive and private responses I received are also rewarding --- I know it tought to make this decision, I know its tough to make the choices and lifestyle changes -- I know you might get discouraged but there a people like me out there who have done it for a really long time.  I appreciate and thank those who had such nice things to say... and Of course Ill continue to share experience and successful tips and ideas...

Are you representing the surgeon's office you tout in the signature?  Please understand what you write is a reflection on their office.

It is so misleading to have your 'story' told on a lap-band website, (where they conveniently fail to mention your had RNY!). This totally insinuates that you had lap-band surgery and is completely misleading!

This is what appears on this lap-band surgery centers website!  ....

Darcie's WEIGHT LOSS Journey:

Lap-Band Surgery Patient

Darcie spent a healthy, active childhood with her family in New Jersey. At the age of 21, she married her High School sweetheart and began her career as a paralegal. At age 25 she became pregnant with her first child, and the battle with her weight began. She was placed on bed rest for six months due to complications of her pregnancy and gained 90 pounds. After the birth of her daughter she struggled with losing the excess weight. Entertaining various diets and fads, she was able to lose 50 pounds. At 199 pounds she became pregnant with her second child and once again was confined to bed rest. Food was a welcome comfort and escape! Darcie regained all the weight she lost and gained even more.

Darcie's moment of revelation came a few years later when her weight topped at 314 pounds. Needing to change her son's diaper, she was unable to lift him onto the changing table or sit on the floor.

Her 7 year old daughter's plea to learn to ride her bike without training wheels where unanswered as "Mommy" was too heavy to run alongside the bike. On a beautiful sunny morning at the beach while playing with her children, twice the sand chairs collapsed under her weight, and each time, she silently cried. Enough, was enough. This moment sparked the desire to lose weight even though the odds and statistics were against her. Anonymously, she began reading blogs on the internet, researching weight loss and chatting on line in search of an answer.

In December of 2000, Darcie had located a weight loss surgeon and her journey began. She lost 44 pounds in the first month. Within ten months her aches and pains diminished, health problems improved, self-esteem skyrocketed, and she became a success story. The reaction of her family and friends was amazing! She began volunteering, organizing support groups, and visiting patients at the hospital. Her own personal experience ignited her dedication to help patients like herself take control of their health, weight and lives.

Since relocating to Arizona with her family, Darcie has been involved with the American Society of Bariatric Surgeons, given lectures on LB surgery, written a cookbook, and has been instrumental in the success of many stories like Kate. Darcie feels blessed to be brought into her patients' lives and watch them take control of their health and weight loss.

You know what?  I didn't read that far ahead.  I'm totally disgusted.  That is nothing short of fraud.

I've tried to stay away from this thread regardless of how many links are PMed to me that it exists but that is FRAUD!  I don't know if it is legal fraud, but it's my fraud because it is deception.

Here is the rest of the story.  I make idle threats, it's what I do.  I threatened to contact her boss last night and she made a mad dash to *try* and delete all her words.  Didn't work, I quote posts for two reasons, one is obvious in this case.

After I woke up this morning to PMs galore warning me about this thread I was angry and decided enough was enough.  I did call her boss this morning at 6AM.  After total shock and disbelief her boss was very upset.  She said they have been around for 30 years or so doing surgery and they have a great rep.  She was frustrated that Darcie was writing posts as she was with their website at the bottom of each of her posts.  She said the Admin would be in at 1PM and she would talk to him.  She said Darcie is a new hire and blah blah blah.

At first I honestly did feel bad for the surgical center.  They are not writing these posts, Darcie is.  But after seeing the deception that you have pointed out... to hell with them.  I don't care.  They deserve for these threads to stay.

Thank you for pointing out this deception and attempt at making people think she was banded and lost weight this fast and maintaining for this long with a band.  They are evil.

WOW!

I went and read the original posts: http://www.obesityhelp.com/forums/AZ/4055249/LAP-BAND-SEMINA R/  where you claim to be harassed, because at first I sympathized with you, but not anymore!

According to the quotes of your conveniently deleted posts, you were not the victim! You were rude and childish and displayed blatant disregard for OH's TOS.

You are doing a disservice to your employers by representing them in such an unprofessional manner. If I were them, I'd fire you.

Thanks for bringing this to everyone's attention AGAIN! Now people who did not read your original post at http://www.obesityhelp.com/forums/AZ/4055249/LAP-BAND-SEMINA R/  can do so and see that what kind of a person you really are as you attempt to garner pity here, when in fact it was you who was hostile.
