Well said! Lets not forget the "Im not an addict but I follow the 12 steps" well I wouldnt normally say anything to that except this person is on an obesity website that deals with WLS for FOOD ADDICTS!!!!!! HELLO!!!!! How about people being that judgemental about those extras cookies that put those extra pounds on!!! Normally I would be a little nicer but its funny to me how a person who by looking at thier date of surgery under thier name hasnt even had it yet can come here and post to everyones reply with a tisk and yet have an addiction themselves! My dad is a recovering alcoholic for 10 years now, he has 13 DUIs, and was charged with attempted murder which scared the hell out of him and thus began his sobriety, I think I know what alcohol does to people in excess! Thank you for putting this judgemental know it all in thier place!

There is NO GOOD reason to drink alcohol. It destroys your body, including your brain - even in small amounts.

Your defending your drinking as if you need to do it.

There is NO GOOD reason to drink alcohol.

No one said there was a good reason...just a personal choice. If you choose not to drink, don't.

It destroys you body, including your brain - even in small amounts.

Really? So does overeating...but that didn't stop you, or anyone else here, from going down that destructive path, now did it? Further, where is your research that states "even small amounts" are destructive? Didn't you say, in your last response to me, that 1oz. was a benefitial amount? You may want to get your story straight before you attempt to scold others. It would be very difficult for you to counsel others on their behavior if you are unable to back up and stick to the information you pass along as a "professional opinion."
The benefits of wine for a woman are at a dose of 1 oz per day every day, or if you prefer, one small glass of wine every other day. Any less and there are no benefits. Any more and the problems with alcohol outweigh any benefits.

Your defending your drinking as if you need to do it.

Where are you seeing any pro-alcohol defensive language in my postings? It seems, as I stated previously to you, that you are the one with the defensive posture. I stated my position on the matter, as have others...and it remains my personal choice and opinion. Take it or leave it. No one said you have to agree with my choices.

Just a final note: How in the heck did you earn your degree when you seem to have such a difficult time with spelling such simple words? Never mind...no need to answer...I'm simply not that interested in continuing this conversation with you.

Good day.
