Not at all...6 months out and very happy and wish I had done it sooner if anything.

Good luck in your decisions,

I have never been happier to have had this surgery - now I am only 3 weeks out but was shocked at how little pain I had with the RNY - and honestly at times I have a problem wishing I was tasting something I am cooking for the family - but I keep reminding myself it is why I needed the surgery, because I would taste everything.

my medications are greatly decreased and that means more than anything.

You might want to look on the site on here where those with failed surgeries post.   Honestly, my only regret is that I didn't do it 2 years ago when I looked into it before.

This is a wonderful surgery.   It has helped countless numbers of people.    There are some risks, but there are risks in just living every day.

Keep up with these OH boards and you will see that most of us would do it again in a minute!

Best of luck to you.

Personally I do not regret it, no, but there are people who do.  There is a whole forum here on OH devoted to that very subject.  You should check it out if you haven't yet done so.  It's good to go into this with your eyes wide open.

This surgery is hard.  It's not the easy way out.  And there can be many complications.  Like I said, I don't regret it, but it's not easy, either.

Like every one else I wish I had had this sooner,  I wish I did not have to watch my protein intake, I wish I did not have to monitor how much water I drink, I wish I did not have to take those vitamins,   But I am glad I had the choice to do this, this is so much better that wishing I could walk thru Wal-mart or breath better or take all that prescription stuff, quality of life is better, to bad I am 64 years old and have a shorter time to enjoy the benefits,  but thankful.....Pat
