Does anyone have acid reflux problems with Crystal Light?

I have been drinking it for a week now and have started noticing every time I drink it, I get reflux.  I have several different flavors of the go packs and the 1st or 2nd ingredient is citric acid.  Guess that's where the reflux is coming from.  I have not had surgery yet - just trying to get off the diet soda right now.

It seems like Crystal Light is everyone's mainstay.  Does anyone have other suggestions for other drinks that are not so acidic?

I am pre op and having the same problem too.  The sugar free pop cycles are doing the same thing to me as well.

My son mixed up some Crystal Light Green Tea with skim milk and it tasted like Green Tea ice cream! Definitely cut the acid, too. I don't use those packs full strength, but just use a little with ice water. I have bad reflux (pre-op) and use Nexium.

I've been drinking the Isopure Mango over a lot of ice cubes so I can lose weight prior to surgery and it doesn't seem to be as caustic.

Also Chai Tea SF syrup in cold skim milk is a great, soothing drink.

I also get herbal teas from Teavana.com. They have some amazing blends and you can get samples...not as quick as crystals, but far more interesting tasting.

I can't stand CL, that's just one of the reasons. Walmart and Kroger brands of the drink mixes are my favorites. Krogers peach and ruby red grapefruit...yum!

I can't stand the fake sugars!  They are all very bitter to me.  I heard it has to do with the amount of taste buds on your tongue.  I love white zin while my husband likes red.  He doesn't mind the fake sugar - it makes me sick!  And always has made me sick.

I have been going with lower sugar because the portions we take in our so small that usually meets the goal of under 5 grams of sugar in any one serving.

I ended up with worse acid reflux at about 3 months out.  However, I had a HIDA scan last week and the results came back that my gall bladder isn't worry plus has a major infection.  The doctor pulled it yesterday so hopefully that will be gone for me.

My doc explained that with RNY your plumbing is so rerouted it was nearly impossible for me to get these symptons.  Bad gall bladder was all it was this year.

Thanks for the comments.  Yesterday all day long, I just felt like my throat was on fire.   I'm going to try drinking nothing bu****er and plain Lipton tea until I can get to the store.  I never had reflux like this before and I used to drink 2 liters of Diet Dr. Pepper a day.

The funny thing is if I drink alot of water, before long  I will have reflux.  Though it is mild compared to what the CL is doing to me.

I never knew a bad gallbladder would cause reflux.

one word  but
Second word  water
Third word and

I'll see if this goes thru.  Sometimes you can figure out what the word involved with the asterisks are but this looks like I am saying butter.

Change your personal settings on your My OH ("message board") to allow adult content and the stars won't show up. It was the combo of the last letter (t) from but and the first three letters from "water" that made it happen.

Try diluting the CL more than you do now. It used to do the same thing to me because it was just too strong.

Good luck!

It's too strong to me too unless I dilute it to half strength.
