The View's Sherri Shepherd "How I Lost 41 Lbs. Without Surgery!"
Well she better go dig up her size 16's .
Hopefully that was just an on-air gag(which would make no sense at all)
But hopefully she has more self control for her sake.

(Weight loss in progress)
I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work.
Highest Weight: 302 Started Researching WLS Weight : 275 Surgery Weight : 240
Current Weight : 175
GW : 164 Long term GW : 140
I lost 65lbs on Jenny Craig at least three times, by working out and following the diet. I followed it until I didn't and then the fat followed me and applied itself right back to my hips, waist, thighs, arms, etc. Losing the weight was easy, staying motivated to keep it off or lose more was the tricky part. I could talk myself out of a diet far quicker than I could ever talk myself into one.
Oh goodness, I swear these women are liars. My boobs are fake, but not huge by ANY means (34 C) and I wear a size 10 or 12 dress (the dress has to be big to fit the boobies in) and I wear a size 4 jeans... so what kind of size 6 is she wearing? NOOOO way are those hooters fitting into a size 6 dress... If they are, well, then I feel like an amazon or something.
She looks like an upside down triangle, whatever. I just want to add, in frustration that when a magizine title or a person says look what I did with out surgery, I feel it encourages the overall jugement that WLS is "the easy way out". I think paying $1500 for a trainer and boxed prepackaged meals is the EASY way out. I have to work hard everyday to monitor my drinks and prepare my meals exactly by my programs guidelines or I'll get sick. So who took the easy way out?

I lost 96 lbs without weightloss surgery in 2000 AND GAINED IT ALL BACK PLUS 20 MORE!!!!!
It isn't about losing it. The ability to keep weight off after losing is the bigger issue. They aren't talking about that I guess.
I'm ready for WLS to be destigmatized!!! This is why I came out to everyone at work, family, etc.... about my surgery!!! And heck, none of them had ever even heard of the VSG. Now two friends are considering it an option IF they do "resort" to surgical intervention (Each has between 120-160 to lose).

I applaud her weight loss. And for those who are wondering - yes, you can have a double chin, football shoulders and big boobs and still have a small bottom. I am shaped like that. All my weight is around my chest, back, neck and upper stomach.
We all know the hard part is keeping the weight off. She is aware of that too, Im sure. The only reason I am loosing weight now is because 1. No room to overeat. 2. I do not get the pleasure/satisfaction I got from food pre-surgery.
As long as the pleasure I received from eating was immediate and everytihing tasted sooooo good I would get "off the wagon."
I know it will be a struggle, but hopefully, I plan not to abuse my pouch and stick to the proteins and use the next years to totally reset my thinking regarding eating.
I miss eating like I used to do - it felt soooooo good. However, this weekend my BF and I went out of town. We ate at a Mexican restaurand and I had refried beans mixed wt a little ground beef and guacomole. About 1/4 a cup. I was missing the way I would have a marguarita and eaten the whole California burrito, beans and rice. Then I realized if I had eaten like I used to do I wouldn't have felt as frisky and amourous as I did later on. Rewire that thinking!
